PROFESSISSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

After completing School, joined training ship as Cadet Officer in 1968.

In the year 1973 obtained 2nd Mate’s Certificate Competency and joined M/s.Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd., Mumbai. Sailed on - General Cargo Ships - Bulk Carriers. - Ore-Bulk-Oil (OBO) Carriers. - Product Tankers. - Afro-max Tankers

All from the Great Eastern Fleet. Obtained Certificate of Competency as First – Mate (Foreign – Going) in the year 1976. Qualified as Master (Foreign – Going) in the year 1980. All Certificates of Competency obtained at the first attempt itself. In Command in 1982. Sailed as Master on various types of ships of the Company. Stayed dedicated to one Company through out the Sea-going Carrier. SHORE BASED EXPERIENCE:

Commenced in 1984 and settled down in Cochin, India.

Joined family owned Ship Owning Company M/s. Cochin Shipping Co. (Cochin) Ltd. Posted to the New Mangalore Branch to head the Agency Operation of M/s.The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd., Mumbai. Increased the profitability of the Branch from Rs. 0.5 Million to Rs. 2.5 Million per month over a period of 3 years. 1987 – Transferred to the Head Office to be the Chief Executive Officer of the

Bunker Barges and

Dry-Dock and Ship Repair Operations. 1992 – Created and branched off to form M/s. Amrok Shipping Pvt. Ltd., Cochin. Primarily to operate a Coastal Shipping Service. Developed a full range operations in Chartering, Custom House Agency, Shore based Logistics, NVOCC Operations and obtained MTO Certification from The Director General of Shipping, Mumbai. 1997 – Pioneered and put into operation India’s first full Coastal Container Service from Ports in Gujarat to South West Coast Ports of India. - Leased 900 new Containers (TEUs) and Chartered operated 7 ships on the West Cost of India. 2001 – The entire operations had to closed down due to indifference labour policies of the Cochin Port Trust. It is here high lighted that the Coastal Container Service pioneered by this Company. Presently contributes to 30% of the Container through put at the Cochin Port. EXPERIENCE IN SHIPPING LAW RELATED FIELD:

Handled one General Average Claim the m.v. “Raja Lakshmi” – because of propeller Shaft Seizure on passage.

Handled the total loss claim of the Chartered Vessel the m.v.”Maratha Convoy” subsequent grounding and sinking with a full load of cargo – May 1995.

Handled the grounding and subsequent constructive Total Loss of m.v.”Indian Courier” with 350 loaded and empty Containers – June 2000.

Negotiated the purchase of m.v.’Rossana” a Coastal Ship and subsequent Demise Sale of the same ship.

Presently assisting Charterers of M.V. “Olympic Progress” on their demurrage claim of the Voyage Charter Party

Maritime Insurance Claims of M/s. Tasty Nuts Industries, Quilon, Kerala.

Maritime Subrogation Claim of M/s. New India Assurance Co Ltd. And M/s.United India Insurance Co. Ltd.
