DESCRIPTION

Dr Gail Casey is a practitioner-researcher from Deakin University, Australia. Her PhD study used action research to support the implementation of social and participatory media into the classroom to students aged 13 to 16. Gail is continuing to investigate how her PhD study may inform post-compulsory education. In 2013, as a PhD student, Gail received an outstanding paper award at the World Conference on Educational Media and Technology (EdMedia) and a publication scholarship from Deakin University, Australia. In 2012, she presented at two peer reviewed conferences in the USA (EdMedia, Denver and ISTE, San Diego) and was awarded, by ISTE, first place in the SIGOL Online Learning Awards for the innovative contribution her research made. I enjoy exercising regularly by walking and swimming. When possible, I like to travel internationally to explore other cultures. In the past, for many years, I was involved with Lions International and I have also been involved with ‘Meals on Wheels’.
