Personal Statement

I have 29 years experience working as a registered nurse / clinical nurse primarily within the public hospital environment.

I have extensive experience in orthopaedic and semi-management roles.

I have held temporary positions including:

Transit Care Hub Nurse (6 Mths) Patient Flow Manager (18 Mths) and After Hours Nurse Manager back fill on going.

I had the responsibility and privilege of successfully escorting a neighbouring surgical ward through the recent Accreditation process and recognised for it with a staff nomination award.

I am a diligent, trustworthy and reliable person with a strong focus on standards and safety. I have taken on new challenges, am effective in solution finding and at solving problems and have a keen desire to continue learning new skills.

Reflection on past experiences to evaluate my own work has grown my skill set.

I take responsibility for my decisions and actions including being professional and accountable for any misjudgements.

Acting Clinical Nurse Clinician - September 2014- June 26th 2015 (10 Months)

Primary role responsibility to assist the Nurse Unit Manager to manage and maintain Queensland Health practice and standards within the long stay surgical unit at Logan Hospital through process change and accreditation.
