Responsibilities of Faithful NavigatorCeremonial for Conducting Assembly Meetings

Rules and Instructions

1. The method of gaining ad­mission at the door: mem­bership card, announcementof name, title, etc., mannerof entrance and salutation,arrangement ofofficers' sta­tions, raps of gavel, are thesame as in prior degrees,except salutation is madeonly to Faithful Navigator,and the salutation table shallbe called the Signal Table.

2. The Faithful Pilot shall ar­range the assembly cham­ber for the meeting by plac­ing a plain cross upon thestation of the Faithful Cap­tain, a sword upon the sta­tion of the Faithful Admiral,and the flag upon the stationof the Faithful Pilot, andshall remove them at theclose of the meeting.

3. The regalia of the FourthDegree is described in theLaws and Rules Governingthe Fourth Degree.

4. The Faithful Navigator shallannually appoint the Faith-

ful Captain, who shall bechairman, and a committee.It shall be the duty of suchbody to provide at each meet­ing an address, lecture,paper, reading or other formofappropriate entertainmentor instruction for the mem­bers present, to be conductedunder the order of business"Good of the Order." Failureto perform such duty shalljustify removal and appoint­ment of others by the Faith­ful Navigator.

5. The Faithful Navigator shallappoint a membership com­mittee and all standing andspecial committees autho­rized by the Assembly or itsby-laws.

6. Rules of prior degrees as toconduct of members in thechamber govern where ap­plicable.

7. Every Fourth Degree mem­ber is entitled to and shouldpossess a membership cardfrom his Financial Secretaryshowing membership and

paymentofdues in his council(See Sec. 240, Charter, Con­stitution and Laws K. of C.,and Sec. 31, Laws and RulesGoverning the Fourth De­gree) also from his assembly.

8. The Faithful Comptrollershall report and enter in theminutes the number ofmem­bel's present at each meet­ing.

9. The books and accounts ofthe Faithful Comptroller andPurser shall be audited an­nually as of June 30 by theBoard of Trustees.

10. Each regular, special or ad­JOUl'ned meeting of everyassembly must be openedand closed in due form, andaccording to this cere­monial, and not otherwise.

11. Assembly officers are electedannually in the months ofMayor June and assumeoffice on July 1. The in­stallation of officers shouldfollow as soon as possibleafter July 1.

NOTE: All ceremonials are to be followed as prescribed. All parts must be memorized. Each Assembly shall hold oneregular monthly meeting which shall be designated as the regular business meeting. For additional information, refer to"Laws and Rules Governing the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus" (#1350).

Color Corps

1. The Color Corps will have a commander appointed by the Faithful Navigator for a term not to exceedthat of the Faithful Navigator and the assembly shall own and furnish the commander with acape andchapeau with the commander returning it to the assembly after his term of office and be the chiefofficer of the Color Corps and Honor Guard.

a. Color Corps: Any Fourth Degree knight in good standing in official dress and regalia.

b. Honor Guard: Members of the Color Corps who have mastered the manual of the sword.

c. Color Guard: At least two honor guards escorting the color bearers (flags).

No membershall be allowed to remain unless he bepossessed of the current membershipcards of both Third and Fourth Degrees,in form as provided by law, evidencinggood standm~ in his council andmembership m the Fourth Degree. Faithful Admiral - To maintain unity; topractice the virtues of charity and brotherlylove; to exemplify, in all our relations withour fellow man, the sublime teachings ofHoly Mother Church.
