ITTO members may submit a project proposalrelated to national capacity building with the ITTOproject cycle (i.e. twice a year)

ITTO Fellowship Programme

supports young and mid-career people for short-termactivities, such as participation in internationalconferences, training courses and study tours, but alsohelps people to prepare manuals

The maximum amount for a fellowship grant isUS$10,000.

Lessons learned

� Lack of capacity to design and implement sinkCDM projects

- Difficulty in the use of methodologies to definebaseline and additionality to calculate carbon potential

- Limited capacity to interact in validation,verification and certification processes

� Lack of financing for sink CDM projectsimplementation

- No seed capital to kick-start CDM project cycle

- Limited access to finance

ITTO’s AR-CDM Project

Building capacity to develop and implementSink-CDM of the Kyoto Protocol in TropicalForestry Sector

Objective:

To promote sink-CDM of the Kyoto Protocolthrough Public-Private-Partnerships, linkinghost developing countries with industrializedinvestor countries.
