• NPOs have to follow the cash basis of accounting except section 25 companies

• Government has power to notify certain NPO as exempt entity

• But, both the current law as indicated above and the proposed code prohibit even incidental business activities, in the case of NPOs included in the category of “Advancement of any other general public utility “.
