Royal Pines Resort - Celebrating 20 Years

This month we celebrate twenty years sincethe construction and opening of Royal PinesResort on the Gold Coast.

Pre-1988 the land where Royal Pines Resortwas developed was wet lands. In 1989construction began on the resort and themapping of the golf ground commenced. In April 1991, Royal Pines Resort opened its doors to patrons who were anxious toexperience the new and magnificenttriangular feature resort with guest roomsenjoying mountain or coastal views.

The new golf grounds were challenging to the best of golfers and very enticing to thenovice. The horticulture was picturesque andthe land within and around the resort becamea new home to wildlife. An inspiration by the

20th Anniversary Celebrations

original owner was to plant Pine Trees and bring Black Swans to the lakes withinthe resort, which still remain today. Theowner’s name was “Matsushita”, the“Matsu” meaning Pine Trees, hence thename Royal Pines Resort.

Twenty years on, this iconic abode forpeople and wildlife is now RACV RoyalPines Resort. We still stand tall in ourstructure and status, but some of theclassic features are now requiring someTLC. RACV has decided to take thisproject into the next decade and producenew features to complement this resort, offering our members, residents andguests the very best of facilities andquality product.
