dismiss the pop-up notifications. (RESMDHTML-7406, RMDIOS-1133)

Release 6.4.1

2018/10/31

The 6.4.1 maintenance release incorporates bug fixes.

Corrections and Modifications

n Resolved issues reported from the field:

n In some edge cases, it was possible for end users to perform searches even though the

Restricted URL option had been enabled on the server. This would only occur after a

related studies search, and only if the product window was sized such that the search

form was displayed as a tab. (RESMDHTML-7203)

n When using the Cine feature in Internet Explorer (IE), achieving a target of 60 frames-per-

second (FPS) is difficult because of how this browser handles memory. In this release,

wemade some changes to how Cine is rendered in IE, and performance is now close to

the target FPS of 60. (RESMDHTML-7281)

n Added support for querying/retrievingmulti-frame datasets from PACS repositories that

share a StudyInstanceUID for a single study. (RMD-25065)

n In MIP/MPR view mode on web-based clients, the "U" keyboard shortcut was not

working as expected: it was removing theMPR axes when pressed the first time, but it

was not restoring them when pressed a second time. (RESMDHTML-7253)

n Other corrections andmodifications:

n Added support for the newest Report API MckessonMR PACS released with version

Known Issues and Recommendations

The table below lists known issues that are applicable to the 6.4 release:

Component Issue Description Since

Server

The user is not notified if a dataset only

gets partially loaded due to an loading

error. (RMD-18925)

6.0

URL integration

When doing a secure URL launch using

the accession number as the query

parameter, the viewer will generate a

redirect URLs to retrieve any additional

reports, series and thumbnails. These

redirects calls, results in displaying the

StudyInstanceUID and the

SeriesInstanceUID values in plain text in

the logs files and when using the Network

console of the web browser developer

tools. (RMD-20059)

Minor Issues

The following minor issues are also known to exist:

Component Issue Description Since

HTML5 client

The chevron indicator in the search

results, used to expand the series within a

study, is not being displayed properly in

the HTML5 client on Internet Explorer 11.

(RESMDHTML-7197)

6.4

HTML5 client

When running the client in Internet

Explorer 11, if a .png image is manually

changed to an image with a different file

extension, the browser will not display

this image because the image encoding

and file extension will not match. Other

web browsers are to be able to display

these files without issue. (RESMDHTML-

6973)

6.3

HTML5 client

When running the client on Internet

Explorer 11, using the Cine function with

very large (2000+ slices) data sets will fail

if the browser memory exceeds 1.5 GB. If

using Cine with large data sets is a

required workflow, the recommended

workaround is to reduce the size of the

image viewer window. (RESMDHTML-

Component Issue Description Since

HTML5 client

When running the client on an Android

device, in collaboration sessions, if a

participant selects a 3D preset, the host

will not see which preset has been

selected from the preset menu. (RMD-

6.2

HTML5 client

When running the client on an iOS

device, if the end user launches a

second URL link after clearing the

cache, the application may display a

prompt to provide login credentials.

(RMD-23165)

6.2

HTML5 client

When running the client on a touchscreen

device, in a collaboration session, if the

host/participant is interacting with the

viewer, the user on the HTML5 viewer

can still pan/zoom/use the scrub bar.

(RESMDHTML-6372)

6.2

HTML5 client

If a SOP class (such as CT or MR) which

contains a large number of images in a

series is added to be ungrouped and it

results in over 400 thumbnails, the

HTML5 client will not handle this well.

n In HTML5 clients, dragging and dropping reports from the search results or worklist into the

Image Viewer would cause issues. (RESMDHTML-5107)

Known Issues

The following were identified as known issues in Release 6.2.

n When using Russian, Turkish or Japanese character keyboards, the hotkeys for the orientation

labels may not work properly. (RTD-528)

n Using the Cine function with very large (2000+ slices) data sets on Internet Explorer 11 will fail if

the browser memory exceeds 1.5 GB. If using Cine with large data sets is a required workflow,

the recommended workaround is to reduce the size of the Image Viewer window.

(RESMDHTML-5995)

n The Vietnamese user guide will not display when running the HTML5 viewer onGoogle Chrome.

The is a workaround for this issue, please contact CSI support for more information. (RTD-583)

n The "Unsupported Data" message no longer appears on iOS native app when viewing BMP

images. (RMDIOS-686)

n Multitenancy does not support patient-centric searching and XDS integration. (RMD-23245)

n When upgrading, the configured searchablemodalities aremigrated following the upgrade;

however, newly supportedmodalities will not be included in the configuration file and will need to

be addedmanually. (RMD-23308)

n When upgrading from 4.3.2 to 6.2.0, if a regulatory agency previously supported in 4.3.2 is

configured (such as KFDA, PMDA), the regulatory agency setting will not upgrade properly to

6.2.0. The recommended workaround is to configure the regulatory agency as Demo prior to

running the upgrade. (RMD-23226)

n For collaboration sessions hosted on the HTML5 viewer in Safari, in order for participant on the

iOS native app to be able to join, the server needs to be SSL encrypted. (RMD-23194)

n When using the HTML5 viewer on an Android device, the double tap and drag gestures to change

the window/level setting are sometimes unresponsive. (RMD-23193)

n For collaboration sessions hosted on the HTML5 viewer on an Android device, if the participant

selects a 3D preset, the host does not see which preset has been selected from the preset

menu. (RMD-23178)

Page 40: ResolutionMD Release Notes · ResolutionMD®6.4ReleaseNotes ConfidentialandProprietary ©2012-2019CalgaryScientificInc.(PureWeb) 3 Release6.0 49 Release5.4.2p1 57 Release5.4.2 57

n When launching the product on HTML5 viewer in an iOS mobile device, if you clear the web

browser cache, when a second URL link is launched the user may be prompted to provide login

credentials. (RMD-23165)

n If a SOP class, such as CT orMR, which contains a large number of images in a series, is added

to be ungrouped and it results in over 400 thumbnails, the HTML5will not handle this well. (RMD-

23032)

n On Flex clients, the Date Time field is returned as empty when retrieving non-DICOM data from

the Synapse VNA. (RMD-22744)

n The iOS native app does not log out of the server when the connection times out. (RMD-21675)

n In the Android native app, when joining a collaboration hosted on an iOS native app, from time to

time the cursor seen on the host does not appear in the same location for both devices. (RMD-

5550)

n When configuring an XDS integration, if an XDS connection has been added as an integration,

the server administrator must set the display_error_dialog parameter in the

configuration.xml file to true. Otherwise, if the HTML5 viewer is still running in study-centric GUI,

an error message will be displayed to the user. (RESMDHTML-6402)

n While running the HTML5 viewer on a touchscreen device, when collaborating while the

host/participant is interacting with the viewer, the user on the HTML5 viewer can still

pan/zoom/use scrub bar. (RESMDHTML-6372)

Corrections and Modifications

n Addressed an issue with related studies, where the server would not retrieve and display all

related non-DICOM studies. The issue would only occur if the user started with a non-DICOM

dataset then performed a query for related studies. (RESMDHTML-6316)

n Fixed an issue where filtering query results from the Synapse VNA using the Date Within and

Date Range search options would not apply the user-specified filters. (RESMDHTML-6300).

This release is intended to be released in the US ONLY. The Regulatory Agency can ONLY be set to

United States (FDA). This release is English language ONLY.

New in this Release

Client Updates

All clients:

n Improvements made for integrating the ResolutionMD server with Epic Haiku/Canto or other iOS

apps. When integrating ResolutionMD with Epic Haiku/Canto the server administrator can

specify the client to be used during URL launch from the EPIC mobile apps, bypassing the

mobile landing pages. The client parameter accepts the following values: mobile, flex, html. If the

client parameter is not specified in the URL, the server will redirect the end-user as it did in

ResolutionMD 6.0.

HTML5 client:

n Save to PACS support. User can now create Secondary Capture (SC) DICOM objects and save

the SC dataset on the PACS. Compatible in 2D, 3D andMIP/MPR viewingmodes.

n Support for bidirectional sorting. User can sort the search results on the HTML client by Name,

PatientID, Study Date or Modality.

n Improved the UI to display non-DICOM documents in theWorklist to be sorted by Creation Date

and Time.

HTML5, iOS and Flex clients:

n Support for Cobb anglemeasurements.

n Support for Manual Synchronized Slice Scrolling. User can now link DICOM series loaded into a

1x2, 2x1 or 2x2 layout by slice number. User can load 2, 3 or 4 series into viewports, manually

align the slices in each viewport to the same anatomy, select themanual synchronized icon and

have all viewports increase/decrease by the same amount. When the extent of a series is

reached that series will not increment any further and display the last slice within the series. This

is required whenmodalities don’t have a slice position DICOM parameter specified.

Corrections and Modifications

n Load Failures: Interrupting the current series being loaded would sometimes result in a load

failure. This was observed in the following use cases:

n Users load a study, then select the All Images load. Before it completes, they select

another series to load. (RMD-21717)

n Users would start to load one study then, before the study is loaded, select a new study to

load. (RMD-21724)

n Users would start to load a study, select one series to load then, then just as that study is

completing its load, select another series to load. (RESMDHTML-5887)

n Network Errors: Network errors were occurring during interaction with the slice-slider in HTML5

client (Scrub Bar).

n Queen's | Server | 2D CPU Rendering and Physical Server | Segmentation faults when

scrolling on the slider bar. The issue was resolved by implementing a throttling interval on

the HTML client. (RMD-21787)

n Server administrators can configure the throttle interval for the slice-slider to tune its

responsiveness. Unless there are problems with the default setting, it is recommended

that the default value be kept. The throttle interval value is configured in the

studybrowser.xml file. (RESMDHTML-5874)

n High CPU usage: A fix was implemented to address high CPU usage andmemory increases,

observed particularly in web clients running on Internet Explorer 10. (RESMDHTML-5899)

n Themeasurement loupe is disabled when a collaboration participant using an iOS device joins a

collaboration session hosted on a desktop device. (RESMDHTML-4956)

n If an end-user continuously performs wide-open wildcard, the child window can end up in a “hung”

state and can get out of sync with the primary windows. The end-user can recover from this state

by logging out of and back into the server. (RESMDHTML-4467)

n When using the HTML5 client frommobile Safari, if an end-user minimizes the applications to

work with another program and doesn’t return to the ResolutionMD application before the client

activity timeout, the end-user will be presented with a Connection to the imaging session was

lost due to a network error message. Once the end-user dismisses this message they will be

logged out and all current work will be lost. (RMD-17412)

n While using the HTML5 client from amobile device running iOS 10, if the end user open new tabs

windows onMobile Safari, the end-user may be presented with the Network Connection error

message. Upon dismissing the error the end user will need to log back into the server and all

current work will be lost. (RMD-20252)

n When using theMulti-monitor feature with a Firefox web browser, the pop-up blocker must be

disabled. When trying to reload a previously savedmulti-monitor setup and the pop-up blocker is

initially enabled, when the end-user disables the pop-up blocker, two windows will open up

instead of just one. (RESMDHTML-4323)

n When the an end-user, using theMulti-monitor feature on IE 11, and the child window is

maximized on the secondmonitor, if the end-user closes and reopens the child window, IE 11

may not resize/reposition child window properly. (RESMDHTML-4324)

n Metadata and orientation label becomes massive when data is loaded via drag-and-drop while a

child window was already spawned. Resize the window to correct the display. (RESMDHTML-

4750)

n WhenURL launching to a report into the Flex or HTML5 client, the associated patient study will

load into the StudyList, however the end-user will need to select the report to load the report into

amodal window. (RMD-17357)

n When aURL containing the parameter, action=viewstudy is launched, and restricted URL

launchmode is configured, the search panel will still be enabled and the end-user will be able to

search for additional patient studies. (RESMDHTML-4715)

n In 3D mode, when a text annotation is placed, the text box does not appear. The text annotation

has to be selected again to open the text box. (RESMDHTML-5041)

Page 54: ResolutionMD Release Notes · ResolutionMD®6.4ReleaseNotes ConfidentialandProprietary ©2012-2019CalgaryScientificInc.(PureWeb) 3 Release6.0 49 Release5.4.2p1 57 Release5.4.2 57

n In 3D mode, when a text annotation is placed, the text box does not appear. The text annotation

has to be selected again to open the text box. (RESMDHTML-5113)

n When doing a secure URL launch using the accession number as the query parameter, the

viewer will generate a redirect URLs to retrieve any additional reports, series and thumbnails.

These redirects calls, results in displaying the StudyInstanceUID and the SeriesInstanceUID

values in plain text in the logs files and when using the Network console of the web browser

developer tools. (RMD-20059)

n Multi-monitor performance is far superior on the Chrome and Firefox web browsers. Multi-monitor

performance on IE 11 is slower and not recommended at this time. (RESMDHTML-4914)

n When collaborating on a non-DICOM dataset, from time to time the dataset may appear panned

or zoomed. Resetting the view resolves this issue. (RESMDHTML-4924)

n When collaborating on a non-DICOM dataset, the participant won’t see themetadata. Only the

collaboration host will see themetadata. (RMD-20142)

n Cannot get to get to MIP/MPR (or 3D) view after closing a study inMIP/MPR or 3D.

(RESMDHTML-4987)

n When the an end-user, using theMulti-monitor feature on IE 11, dragging and dropping a dataset

from the Study List into the ImageViewer, while the server is currently trying to load a large

dataset, may result in the client to become unresponsive. The end-user can recover from this

state by reloaded the page. (RESMDHTML-5055)

n The logback.xml syslog appender fails when addingmore then one log file to the log file

appendedmessages won’t include the log filenamewhere themessage was generated from.

Redirecting the audit.log to an external logs server will still work, but when adding a second log

file, pureweb.log for example, appendedmessage won’t add themessage with the filename

appended. (RMD-20324)

n When loading the same patient datasets from different PACS connections, certain metadata

tags may not update appropriately, notably the date/time tag. (RMD-20284)

n When loading two studies, that have the same StudyInstanceUID from two different PACS, only

the first dataset will load. The second study will be displayed in the search results but the end-

user won’t be able load the study into the ImageViewer. (RMDIOS-354)

n When an end-user uses themeasurement loupe tool to measure or annotate a 3D image on the

iOS client, they won’t be able to rotate the study and add ameasure or annotation.

(RESMDHTML-4946)

n When an end-user uses performs on unbounded search on IE 11 and the search returns a large

amount of data, the activity spinner will freezes, however the requested datasets will be returned

to the search results. (RESMDHTML-4980)

n When an end-user joins a collaboration using an iOS device, the participant won’t be able to add

text annotations. (RMDIOS-336)

n Once a collaboration session hosted from an Android client and the participant has added some

measurement, once the collaboration session is closed the Android client will remain in

measurement mode. (RMD-20321)

n Repeatedly dragging and dropping images and videos into amulti-view layout in the Flex client

can cause the Flex client to crash. This will only happen when alternating between images and

videos and only after a number of the end-user loads a number of images/videos. (RMD-20302)

n Race conditionmay exist on iOS client between loading the thumbnail and loading the dataset.

This issuemay cause network connection failures. (Issue# RMDIOS-141)

n If multiple clients attempt to load the same datasets “simultaneously”, one of the end-user’s

requests will fail to load. (Issue# RMD-19299)

n Whenmultiple studies are loaded, and Linked Scrolling enabled, a series with KO dataset may

cause scrolling in other series. (Issue# RMD-19296)

n When the server is placed under extremely heavy processor loads, the server may drop al

network connections. (Issue# RMD-18956)

n The end-user is not notified if the datasets only gets partially loaded due to an loading error.

(Issue# RMD-18925)
