From the Principal and Assistant Principal…

Parent/Carer/Teacher/Student Meetings Fantastic to so many of our parents/carers at last

night’s meetings. It is so important for teachers

to learn all about the children they teach. When we

all work together to support the children their

education will be more effective. If you want to follow up with further

concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the class teacher

or myself.

Student Voice at West We think students need to be actively involved in our school,

contributing to decision making processes and putting forward their

views, concerns and ideas.

Student Voice not only allows students to engage and participate

meaningfully in their own learning, it contributes to building student

leadership, confidence and other skills that ensure student wellbeing.

There are many opportunities for students to take up a “formal

leadership” position which many students strive for.

However, Student Voice is about all children at West. We ensure every

child is heard because every child has that right. We want all of our

students to be confident enough to voice their opinion and to have their

say.

Student Leadership Breakfast The Student Leadership team went to McDonalds to Brainstorm some

ideas with Ms Robinson and Mr Jeffers. We can't wait to share our

ideas with the school soon. Breakfast was yum and we got to learn more

about each other.

Follow up checks will be carried out on Monday. We are happy to answer questions about our head lice program, please speak to our office staff if you have any concerns. Thank you to everyone for your assistance in this matter, your vigilance and regular monitoring is the best way to combat this problem.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

Academy Photography will be at school on Tuesday

28th February for School Photos.

Please make sure that students are at school nice and early as the photographer will begin at 9am.

All students are required to wear full School Uniform.

Each child has been given an individually named photo envelope to take home. If your child did not receive an envelope, please

collect a blank order form from the school office.

Family Photo order forms are also available from

the school office. All students need to return their envelope

whether they order photos or not.

The office will collect orders up until 8.30am

Tuesday 28/2/2017

There are 2 ways to pay for photos Pay online at www.academyphoto.com.au using

the individual code that appears on your order

form (students will still need to bring the order to

school) Send cash or cheque, along with your order in

the supplied envelope. You must have correct

money, as the photographer will not have change.

The school cannot accept EFTPOS or BPay in this case, as the money goes to the photographer on the

day.

the front office by Wednesday 29th March
