1 Residue MODIFIED THERMAL CRACKING SMALL-SIZE UNITS RЕОТЕК UNITS PURPOSE REOTEK Modified thermal cracking Small-size Modular units are designed for destruction of heavy bottoms ( atmospheric residue) into white products. The processing of more heavy residue, for example of tar , is also possible. REOTEK Modified thermal cracking units allow to increase crude oil refining ra- tio up to 75% and get additionally up to 50% of commercial white products. These units can be operated separately as well as to- gether with REOTEK atmospheric distillation units (ADU) . Destructing atmospheric residue, the units produce the marketable white products. Horizontal rectifying apparatus ensures high precision of distillation and excellent quality of the following oil products: -Cracked gasoline, IBP– 320°F (MON ~70): used as a base component for motor fuels; -Kerosene-gasoil (diesel) fraction (320 - 660°F): used as a base component for diesel fuel of summer grade; -Motor fuel fraction (660 - 790°F): used as a bunker fuel as well for feedstock heating in the Modified thermal cracking units. The units are adjusted for maximum yielding of kerosene-gasoil (diesel) fraction. and manufactured as a corrosion resistant models. Climatic modifications for hot and cold environmental

conditions allow to operate the equipment at temperatures from -76 to 113º F correspondingly.

Main advantages of REOTEK Small-size Modified thermal cracking

units

1. Compactness and modular design: all the equipment is supplied as transportable blocks

with dimensions of sea carrier. Due to modular design, REOTEK equipment can be relocated with mini-

mum expense and within a short time.

2. 100% factory readiness of the equipment: in addition to main core process equipment the

Modified thermal cracking units include all consumables for operation within 1 year. Electric power supply

as well as feedstock and oil products pipelines shall be connected only.

4. Serviceability and safety: HRA ensures high serviceability of the units and excludes the necessi-

ty of operator’s working at height. The operation of the equipment is fully automated. Main functions of the

built-in automated process control system (APCS) are as follows:

Emergency shutdown protection system within APCS minimizes the “human factor” in unforeseen and

emergency situations.

5. Time-efficient putting into operation: REOTEK guarantees the minimal time for designing and

manufacturing of its Modified thermal cracking units. The period from the date of Purchase order till the

shipment of the equipment to a Customer is usually 6-12 months. 100% factory readiness allow the Com-

pany’s team to put the equipment into operation within 1 month after delivery to Customer’s premises.

The modular design ensures easy transportation as well as the quick assembling of equipment.

During commissioning works REOTEK specialists provide training of the Customer’s personnel on operating

procedures for proper operation of the equipment.

3. Usage of Horizontal rectifying appa-

ratus (HRA): weight of this apparatus is 2 times

less than typical vertical rectifying columns. The

HRA reduces the weight of the units by 3 times

compared with equipment of the same capacity

from other producers.

6. Environmental safety: REOTEK equipment fully meets the Russian industrial safety and EU envi-

ronmental standards. The equipment has a minimal number of detachable joints and thus it is completely

sealed to prevent any possibility of leakage of oil products and their harmful environmental impact. The

emergency shutdown protection system monitors the oil products vapor content in the air.

7. Quick payback: Through the applied design solutions the units can be operated with minimal run-

ning costs.

The built in modern automated process control system (APCS) allows to operate the units by 2 per-

sons per day only.

From all the utilities the units consume electricity as well as the fuel, produced at the units. The natu-

ral gas is also can be used for feedstock heating.

The variable-speed pumps of the process module reduce the electric power consumption and noise

level by 30% and the heat exchangers save up to 40% of heat needed for crude heating.

Materials and components used for the units manufacturing provide high operational reliability of the

equipment. Operational life of the units between overhauls is 12 years.

Upon the Customer’s request, REOTEK technicians carry out all complex of measures for post-

warranty maintenance thus increasing the economic efficiency of equipment ownership.

Modified thermal cracking units shall be placed on the appropriate sites in full conformance with

technical regulations for equipment placement. When choosing the site, the requirements of National legis-

lations in construction, industrial safety as well as public health and other regulations shall be met. The

sanitary protection zone is usually 3,300 ft and can be reduced in some justified cases. The appropriate

oil store with illumination, lighting protection, fire alarm, industrial and storm sewage systems and earth

connection shall be arranged by the Customer at the site of equipment placement.
