Our programme is flexible, action packed and full of fun, while still being educational, interactive and full-immersion.

BLISS programmes have evolved from feedback given to us from schools, parents, partners and students - along with years of experience.

We only work with the best of partners to ensure students have a unique and truly valuable experience.

We We recommend a minimum stay of two weeks, but you can stay up to four weeks with us, as our syllabus ensures no lessons are repeated, along with weekend adventures that are dierent every time.

What does the week look like at BLISS?

Monday to Friday mornings allMonday to Friday mornings allow time for the students to dedicate time in the

classroom, with experienced and qualified teachers, following our unique, specially developed BLISS syllabus, accredited by the

British Council.

Our Our academic sta are committed to inspiring our students with a broad range of exciting lessons and activities. We ensure that students feel thoroughly engaged and

ready to try something new.

EEveryone attends classes based on age and level. We use the CEFR to help us grade

students.

Our Our Director of Studies has been teaching English as a Foreign Language since 2001 and has run four dierent language schools across the UK and abroad. With a diploma in TESOL, she is fully qualified to ensure that high-quality lessons are being delivered at

all times.

Due to the nature Due to the nature of our syllabus, students are assured that across all levels they will study the same subjects on the same day, ensuring interactive opportunities outside,

as well as inside, the classrooms.

English Learning at Glenalmond College Language School and BLISS in 2019, 100% of

surveyed participants scored BLISS English lessons as “Extremely” and “Very”

well organised

We are very proud to be accredited by the British Council

Our course is based on the Theory of Natural Acquisition, pioneered by Stephen Krashen. We want the language to stick in the minds of our students and we want them to see learning the language as a pleasure. In this way, we have designed our course to have formal elements, as well as informal ones. When you learn your first language, you do so through listening, repetition and then understanding; this is Natural Acquisition. That is our aim for our learners.

While students might While students might come to us not familiar with certain vocabulary, grammar or accent, they will certainly leave with a more familiar connection with English, as they will have full-immersion English when they are with us. Through working with the daily routine, following instruction and interacting with others, they will start to absorb and use language, which they didn’t have before.

IIn the mornings, students will have their lessons in the classroom setting, where they will benefit from an interactive style of teaching and learning. They will work towards a weekly project at their own level and they will be able to ask their teacher and peers for support.

Out Out of the classroom, students will be communicating in the common language with students from the UK as well as from many dierent nations. Sta only speak English and so, in order to be understood, students have to speak to us in English. Whether they are in the common rooms, the rugby pitches or in the sports halls, students have to communicate in English to ensure they can connect with others.

AAll the teachers follow the same syllabus, which means that all students are learning the same topics, but in dierent age groups and at dierent levels. In this way, all students can converse about their lessons in the morning, no matter what class they are in. Classes have a maximum of 16 students and have as diverse a range of nationalities as possible.

The process The process of learning is a holistic one, where the students are able to benefit from a completely safe learning and living environment. Here they can advance, hone, or perhaps start their journey with English.

English Language is at the centre of everything we do – it is fundamental to the programme.
