Emailing Faculty: DoDear Dr. Smith,

My name is Rachel Tripodi and I am an incoming freshman at NIU. I have also been accepted to the Huskie Research Rookies Program.

I have been reviewing your faculty profile on the Psychology Department’s website and am very interested in the work that you are currently doing on child development.

Part of the Research Rookies Program is to find a faculty mentor who will help guide me through the research process and, based on the research you are currently conducting, I feel I would be a great match for your lab.

I would like to set up a meeting with you to discuss this possibility in greater detail. I am available to meet on Monday and Wednesday from 10:00am-3:00pm.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,Rachel TripodiCell PhoneEmail address
