Bulimia NervosaClaim: Bulimia Nervosa and Anorexia Nervosa are serious conditions that can alter a person's life forever. Insecurities such as low self-esteem and perfectionism can produce behaviors that are harmful to teenagers.

The History:

Bulimia Nervosa:

Derived from the greek word “bous” which means ox in the english language.

Greek word “Limos” which means hunger in the english language

Two Parts of Bulimia is Binging and Purging. Uncontrollable desire to overeat and uncontrollable desire to “purge” yourself of all your “sin”

Causes are perfectionism, fear, guilt, terror, depression

Respect Self Value People (RSVP) is taken to middle schools surrounding Wichita to help girls deal with their insecurity about their appearance before an eating disorder can rear its ugly head.

The Root of the Problem:

What is it that is the source of the problem?

“Ed” is the acronym for eating disorder.

In the book Life without Ed the author explains how “Ed” is a fictitious character for the eating disorder is compared to an abusive boyfriend.

Getting to the root of the problem buy RSVP, and talking and helping the preteens through hard times now instead of later.
