Some of the research and development capabilities wemaintain in our laboratories include:

• Advanced control systems to manage multiple tests as well as to track, display, record, store and retrieve a multitude of test data for analysis

• State-of-the-art equipment for evaluating every aspectof elastomer and product performance in controlled, simulated and actual application environments

• Computerized photographic capture, storage, retrieval and distribution of real time test images with direct links to customers

• Flexometer equipment to compare fatigue characteristicsof elastomer compounds in a theoretical environment coupled with fluid hysteresis test fixtures that verify actualperformance of the compounds under dynamic conditions

• Immersion testing of elastomer compounds with industrystandard fluids as well as customer supplied fluids todetermine compatibility

• Moving die rheometers, capillary rheometers, differentialscanning calorimeters and thermogravimetric analysis thatidentify various characteristics of elastomer compounds to optimize processing parameters

• Advanced contouring and machining centers that allowrapid prototyping of components needed for laboratorytesting without disruption of the factory schedule or delay

• Proprietary conformance and performance hydraulics laboratories to verify product quality and service lifeexpectancy

• Application specific customer testing in dedicated customer testing centers to validate product performance

• Computer-controlled progressing cavity downhole pumpdrivehead dynamometer for performance testing

• Extensive variety of tank geometries and sizes available for testing mixer impellers, high shear products and static mixers

• Utilization of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), LaserDoppler Anemometry (LDA), Laser Induced Fluorescence(LIF) and Digital Particle Image Velocimetry (DPIV) to analyze mixing, solids-suspension, chemical reaction andheat transfer processes - allowing engineers to see actualflow patterns and measure velocity and turbulence todevelop effective mixing systems for complex processes

• Proprietary Chemineer® Expert Design System (CEDS™)that simultaneously evaluates the process, proposes amixing solution and verifies the integrity of the productdesign in a single program
