A sample outline of chapters was provided to demonstrate the scope of the proposed curriculum. The proposed curriculum would be marketed to schools and universities preparing students for careers in health-related professions, with the potential for further development of career-specific mod- ules designed by the most common teaching method used for the profession. The Public Relations Committee is pleased to feature Steve Weinstein, MT(ASCP), MPH, CIC. Steve, a native New Yorker, moved to Boston in 1975 to complete a laboratory internship and requirements for certification in medical tech- nology at Boston’s Veterans Administration Hospital.

After working 1 year in the microbiology lab, Steve had the opportunity to assume the duties of infection control at a community teaching hospital. On completing the requirements for a MPH degree from Boston University, he took a position as director of the board of health for the town of Winchester, Mass., where he learned the practical aspects of public health.

His real passion being infection control, he entered the area again as Director of Infection Control at the University of Massachusetts Med- ical Center. He has recently been appointed as an i:nstructor at the medical school. Half his responsibility at the University of Massachu- setts is as director of educational program on acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) directed toward college students in central Massachusetts.
