Initial idea

• Our initial idea revolved around a girl whom had life troubles then it developed into her having a hangover after a party and her going into different rooms. We were heavily influenced by Tove Lo’s ‘Stay High’. We were aiming to capture the attention

of a young and modern audience in an alternative indie style.

Page 3: Research and planning evaluation

• We looked at similar artists and analyzed their style and the genre of our music.

• Research the artist’s gave us better understanding of the style of evolution of the music genre. It also gave us a head start with our digipaks as we now understand the conventions of the music genre.

• We compared and contrasted the artists to our chosen artist to see what similarities we could pick so that we could make the different changes to ours.

AUDIENCE

• We researched our target audience in order to get an understanding from them we worked quite often with them getting feedback and adjusting our work to get the audience’s appeal.

SUMMARY OF RESEARCH

• The research influenced and path and helped us come up with our final idea by polishing our thoughts and ideas.

• From that we decided we wanted a pretty girl but not too made up so she doesn’t look like a pop artist and that we wanted to shoot in the studio because we could manipulate the spaces more with the lights and backgrounds.

Storyboard and animatic

• Because a lot changed from our animatic and storyboard to the main shoot day the animatic and storyboard weren’t of much use to use. But they were good visual representations and helped us reach out to our target audience.

Page 16: Research and planning evaluation

• Casting was very important and caused a bit of a hassle but we got through it. We had problems with our main performer and dancers which caused us stress but through quick organization we got through it.

• Creating the shot list was also very important and served as reminders to us on the shoot day.

EVALUATION

• The research was quite impactful to our development.

• It informed what we produced.• Our planning went according to plan as we used

all material. Except the projections• The shoot would have been better if we focused

on the shot list better• An area for development would have been the

design for the sets.
