EMAIL MARKETINGEmail is a simple, inexpensive and effective way to invite donors to give through ArkansasGives.org. Be sure to share stories and images that illustrate your organization’s mission, and make a direct appeal to give. On ArkansasGives day, it’s really important to include a direct link to your organization’s profile at ArkansasGives.org to make it easy for donors to find you and make a donation. Remember: donors may be receiving emails from other organizations participating in ArkansasGives, so be careful not to send too many. We recommend no more than 2-3 ArkansasGives emails total between January and March, and no more than 1-2 emails on the day of the event.

PHONE SCRIPTTry making phone calls to key potential donors in advance of ArkansasGives if your organization does not use social media/email marketing, if you have had success with phone campaigns in the past or if you want the opportunity to make a more personal contact with potential donors.

Hello, my name is _____________ and I’m a staff member/volunteer for ____________________.

I’m calling to let you know about a big event we’ve got coming up on April 2.

We’re participating in a statewide giving day called ArkansasGives, along with dozens of other nonprofits across Arkansas. The idea is to invite all Arkansans to give to their favorite charities on a single day – April 2.

I know that you’ve been a volunteer/supporter/patron of (insert name of organization), so I wanted to let you know about this opportunity to give.

We are attempting to raise (insert fundraising goal) in a single day, and as part of ArkansasGives we’ll have the opportunity to compete for bonus dollars from Arkansas Community Foundation, along with a few cash prizes. The more money we raise from our donors, the more bonus dollars and prizes we stand to win, which means that if you give on April 2 your charitable dollars will stretch further.

We’ll be using these donations to… (insert a little bit about how donors can help you achieve your mission).

Would you consider supporting us with a gift through ArkansasGives on April 2?

(If yes) Let me tell you about how the event will work. On April 2, you’ll need to go to ArkansasGives.org to make your donation via credit card. When you get to the site, you can search for our organization by name. Then, when you find our organization from among the list of those participating, you’ll choose “give now”. You’ll be able to specify the amount of your gift. After you complete your transaction, you’ll automatically receive an email confirming your donation.

At the end of the day, we’ll be able to track the number of donations received by each of the participating nonprofits, and we’ll know right away whether we raised enough to earn any of the prizes that are up for grabs.

Would it be helpful for me to send you an email reminder on April 2? I can also include a direct link to the project website to make it easy for you to find (insert name of your organization). If so, please tell me your email address.

Thank you so much for supporting us!
