RESCAMPUS Summer
Welcome to Summer Housing!
My name is John O’Connor and I am a Campus Life
Coordinator here at Simmons. I am the Resident
Director for North & South Halls. I want to welcome
you to summer housing here at Simmons. Summer
in Boston can be a great time. There are many
events going on in the city and many great
opportunities to enjoy a slightly more quiet time on
the Simmons campus. Residence Life will put out a
newsletter every few weeks to highlight things to do
in Boston as well as summarize announcements
that have been sent out to the residence community.
If you have ideas of things that should be featured in
our newsletter please let us know by calling our
office at 617-521-1096 or emailing us at
I look forward to meeting many of you through the
summer.

ARAMARK offers a voluntary meal plan for students who are on campus for the summer. The cost is $200 dollars and you get $50 dining points and 30 meals. The meals cost $5.00 under this plan but the meal swipes can be used in The Fens Cafe during normal hours to swipe meal deals! The best part is that if you don’t use them all this summer you can use them next summer! They never expire! Visit the link below for more information.http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CSNE/SimmonsCollege

Meet the Summer Res StaffSara - Summer RA South 1-2My name is Sara Hanna, 21 years old. I was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt until I was 10 years old before I moved to Lowell, MA. I speak three languages: Arabic, French, and English. When I was in high school, I decided that I wanted to become an Optometrist, and I am currently working hard on that goal. I love music and traveling, and hope to one day travel to see the 6 wonders of the world (I have already seen and climbed pyramids). I am looking forward to a beautiful and warm summer; although we could never tell with this New England Weather!
Phuong - Summer RA - South 3 & 5My name is Phuong and I’m that bubbly, friendly RA making rounds this summer! Although I am a junior currently working on a major in English and a minor in Cinema and Media Studies, I aspire to one day write novels and travel the world. My hometown is West Palm Beach, FL and although I miss the warm weather, I just love the atmosphere and diversity of Boston! Because I have been spoiled by my mother’s Vietnamese home cooking, my one true love will always be good, simple food made from the best ingredients. My favorite places to eat are: the original Pizzeria Regina’s, Maggianos, Five Guys and Berryline.
Anthony - Summer RA - North - 1-3I entered the world on April 7th, 1988. I currently represent the very few men on Simmons campus and am thrilled to be at this fine college! Being a physical therapy graduate student here at Simmons is fantastic. I previously attended Stonehill College as a neuroscience major and absolutely loved it. My favorite hobbies include playing sports and relaxing on the beach. If you ever see me on the quad playing catch I hope you come to join! The more the merrier. I hope to meet each and everyone one of you on campus. I’ll be sure to give a wave when I see you! Favorite foods: pretty much anything with my mom’s pasta sauce. Favorite color: Tropical ocean blue Favorite vacation spots: Dublin, Florence, Dominican Republic
Jennifer Summer RA - North 3-5Jennifer Shaw is one of the two RAs in North Hall this summer. She is a graduate student in CAS and GSLIS, majoring in History and Archives Management. Her B.A. is in Secondary Education-History from Arizona State. During the summer she is interning in the archive at the New England Historic Genealogical Society. Her weekends are spent exploring Boston and New England, enjoying the history of the region (and all the pretty old buildings). When not outside, she can usually be found in her room with a good book (and hopefully not homework).
Emily Nanna - Residence Life Summer InternHi, I'm Emily and I'm the Summer Intern in the Office of Residence Life! I'm currently a graduate student in the College Student Affairs program at the University of South Florida in sunny Tampa, Florida. While I miss the beaches there, I am loving the little to no humidity and cool weather of Boston! I will graduate next May and can't wait to start my career working with students like you! I'm here until the beginning of July so I'm trying to fit in all that Boston has to offer in just a few short weeks. If you have any favorite places that I must go to, let me know
Watch for the next edition of the newsletter to see bios for John, Audra, Jess, Julia & Tia - the Central Office Staff!
Steam Line WorkFacilities will be working with contractors to complete large scale work on the Steam Line that runs under both sides of the Residence Campus this summer. The work began 6/6/2011 and it started with the Smith Lot becoming closed. Please utilize the two temporary spaces near Arnold Hall in the Bartol lot for loading and unloading. Please watch for signage and emails about which parts of the quad will and will not be available for certain periods of time given the work. Large excavation equipment will be stored in the smith lot for the duration of the summer - please watch for signs that indicate where to stay away from - much of the quad will be offline for the
