Sudan GeographyLocation: North East Africa
Geography-notes:•Ranked tenth in the world in area. •largest country in Arab World and Africa.
Cities and StatesSudan is a FEDERAL country divided into 25 states.Khartoum is the capital and Port Sudan is seaport city on the read sea.
Major Rivers and Lakes The White Nile coming from lake VICTORIA,UGANDA, joins the Blue Nile which is coming from lake
TANA, Ethiopia at Khartoum confluence.
Sudan People Sudan is a multiracial and multi-religious country.There are about 500 tribes and 200 languages and dialects.Arabic is lingua franca ,the common language spoken by the majority.

Traditional Arts and craftsMany crafts are available in Sudan's souks (markets). Strings of heavy beads often include antique trading beads made from colored glass.

CustomsMarriage and Family:The traditional Sudanese family is strongly patriarchal. Three generations of males and their spouses and children usually live in the same household. The home is a cohesive, private place where a family member can always return for support. Women manage the home. Read More…
• Lamb, goat, and fowl are the usual meats. Pasta dishes are also popular. Other common foods include flat breads made of sorghum or millet flour and spicy soups with meat or eggs.
• These are eaten with the right hand, using flat bread or a stiff millet porridge known as asida or kisra.
• The strong Sudanese coffee is served from a special tin "jug" with a long spout, known as a jebena.
• Fruit teas and herbal teas such as karkaday (hibiscus tea) are also popular.Most people seem to have a very sweet tooth, piling several teaspoons of sugar into their cups of tea, and enjoying sugary desserts.Peanuts, known as Ful-Sudani, are a popular snack, and can be made into delicious macaroons. Red SeaThe Sudanese coast is 650 km long as the crow flies; numerous embayment and gulfs make it 750 km long. It has two prominent features; coastal lagoons, locally called marsas, and reefs, called shia'ab in Arabic.
Wild Life in Sudan
Sudan is probably the country in the world with the greatest variety of big mammals living on land. Sudan has the largest natural ZOO in the world.
