Republic Day 2015 Celebrations

Two functions were organised by the Mission to celebrate

Republic Day 2015 on January 26.

In the morning, a function was organised at the Chancery

which included hoisting of the National Flag and reading of Hon’ble

President’s address to the nation by Ambassador and followed by

refreshments for all present. The function was attended by about

150 members of the Indian community.

A National Day Reception was hosted in the afternoon at Hotel

Ritz, Madrid which was attended by more than 400 invitees that

included the Minister for Defence of Spain, H.E. Mr. Pedro Morenés

Eulate, other Spanish dignitaries, members of the diplomatic

community, friends of India and members of the Indian community.

Ambassador gave a brief speech highlighting India-Spain ties. This

was followed by an Indo-Spanish fusion dance performance by a

group of Indian and Spanish artists of ´SohiniMoksha World Dance

and Communications´. An exhibition on the ´Make in India´

campaign was hosted at the venue of the event.
