In the Music Industry the way in which an

artist is represented to their fans is vital to achieve commercial

success

How has my artist been represented through my project?

An acoustic artist is usually represented as laid back and because most of them are singer/songwriters, their music is more personal. I wanted to have a positive representation of my artist and I tried to achieve this through his laid back style in the images, which would connote the same about his music.

This laid back style would appeal to any audience as it would also create a down-to -earth image which audiences favour.

Being a down-to-earth artist would tell an audience that they could relate to the artist personally, therefore making his music personal in the process

Popular music is very much part of our

shared Popular Culture and is about a lot more

than just music e.g. Attitude, fashion, celeb

status?

• When creating my artist I wanted him to be completely admired for his music. This is because of the personal value in his music and this is the most important thing to him. I got this idea from other acoustic artists such as Ed Sheeran. •Ed Sheeran is not admired because of his style, celeb status or sex appeal but solely his music and this is what I wanted to achieve in my own work•To do this, I ensured that the artist was completely himself and didn’t do anything ‘special’ for the music video•This would then make him seem down-to-earth creating a positive representation and therefore people will like him for his talent and not his fashion sense.
