    The Educative Process

    Education is a process or an activity which is directed at producing desirablechanges in the behavior of human being.

    Personality is the complex system of behavior that an individual acquires.

    Behavior is any response simple complex of a person.

    The essential elements in the educational process, are the human organism and a setof experiences that one intended to bring about changes in the personality of this organism.

    Education and the socialization process

    Education also maybe viewed as the socialization process. The process by which thechild is included into the society in which he lives. The complex interaction of these diverseresults in the childs development as a member of his society.

    The meaning of Personality

    Personality is frequently though of as something people have some having moreand some having less.

    Psychological definition of PersonalityPersonality is the unique integrated and organized system of all the behavior of a

    person.

    Characteristics of Personality Development.

    1. Continuity of Personality Development2. Uniqueness of Personality Development

    3. Dynamic Characteristics of Personality Development

    Personality is dynamic - a personality is continually changing in many differentways.

    Continuity of Experience - the stream of experience of the child, whiledifferentiated in various aspects, is an integrated experience in which the central featureand focus is himself.

    The school as an Environment1. The school is an institution which contributes to the total educational

    socialization process directed to the development of the personality of the child.

    2.The school assumes certain responsibilities for specific aspects of socializationprocess.

    The school and the cultureThe school reflects the total culture of which it is a part, it transmits the dominant

    values, mores attitudes and ideas of society from a psychological point of view, with thesensitivity to the cultural context of education is necessary to sharpen awareness of thekinds of experiences to which we will be exposing children and to make us aware ofalternatives experiences and the kinds of personalities that the institution might produce.

    The Teacher and the Educative Process.

    Educative act is an organized event in an aspect or part of the total educationalprocess.

    Three aspects of Educational Act.

    1. The formation of educational objectives.2. The organization of Learning Experience.3. The Evaluation of learning.

    Educational MethodologyIs the process by which the educative act is initiated and carried through.

    The Role of Psychology in EducationPsychology is the science of behavior change and the function of the educational

    process into promote assemble behavior changes

    Psychology contributes to the development of the teacher in three ways.1. by providing the teacher with set if concepts and principles that will enable him

    to view human behavior more critically and to increase understanding of thisbehavior.

    2. by providing the teacher with skills that are directly related to educationalprocess.

    3. by introducing the teachers to the elements of the logical and method of

    research in human behavior.

    Motivated behavior is goal-seeking behavior

    The goal which the person is actually striving for influences the behavior which aperson adopts to attain the goal.

    The environment provides opportunities for and sets limits on the behavior of theorganism.

    Behavior is influenced by processes within the organism

    Behavior is determined by the capacities of the human organism.
