accomplishments
a letter from the board chair
Serving as United Way’s board chair has allowed me to have a
deeper understanding of the organization’s vast and important
reach across our region. When we began the year with United
Way staff and board members engaging in a strategic planning
process to reinforce the organization’s ability to help people, we
did not anticipate the profound impact this plan would have as
it guided us through conversations with corporate, government
and community leaders on how to move our region forward after
the events in Ferguson. While 2014 presented unprecedented
challenges, we were able to use the best thinking of community
leaders to continue fulfilling our mission.
As we move forward, United Way’s strategic plan will allow us to
quickly adapt to the changing needs of our region without losing
sight of our core commitment to help people with basic needs,
education, health, financial stability, as well as building and
maintaining strong communities.
Thank you to each of you who make these investments possible
year after year. Your commitment allows United Way to annually
make a significant impact in our community. In the coming year,
we’re poised to do even more with a clear and strategic vision.
