th The inauguration of 10 Agrovision was a grand affair as it was inaugurated at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath and presided over by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Chief Patron, Agrovision, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways, Shipping, Water Resources & Ganga Rejuvenation in the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister Maharashtra, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare GOI & Shri Hansraj Ahir, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. thThe 10 edition of Central India’s largest Agri summit – “Agrovision” concluded at Nagpur with an overwhelming response. To guide the farmers of Central India towards maximum value creation through technological interventions, the event started 10 years ago under the leadership of Union Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Chief Patron, Agrovision. The theme of 10th Agrovision was “Linking farmers to new technologies”. The event spectrum included Free Workshops for farmers, Exhibition, Conferences, Expert Panel Discussion etc.

Free Workshops for Farmers

The Workshops comprised of

Workshops are the special feature of Agrovision with an objective of “Linking Farmers to New Technologies”. In 10th Agrovision, 28 workshops were organized on important topics like cotton production, silk farming, agri finance & digital payment, social media marketing of agri products etc. Workshops were addressed by over 60 experts from agriculture field. Special long duration workshops were organized on floriculture, poultry, natural farming, organic farming, orange production & processing, sugarcane cultivation, fisheries etc. All the workshops were well attended by farmers and around 60,000 farmers attended the workshops.

The topics were selected under the guidance of Dr. C.D. Mayee, Chairman, Agrovision - Advisory Council and Former Chairman of Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board (ICAR) and other Advisory Council Members. The topics were selected considering the requirements of agriculture and farming community from Central India

National Expo

The grand national Agrovision Expo was spread over 25000 sq.mtr. and it was visited by lakhs of farmers from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and from various other states. Over 400 medium and small enterprises and well known organisations from agri field displayed their products and services in the National Expo of Agrovision. Grass root level innovators were added attraction for the visiting farmers.

The participants displayed their research, innovative techniques, products, services etc. Seedless custard apple, advanced solar fencing, stalls of bamboo products were the point of attraction. Honey bee cage, various species of cow, bullocks, goat, kadaknath - black cock etc. at the special Animal Husbandry pavilion attracted the farmers. Stalls of ladies self help groups making tasty food items were flooded with the visitors. Various types of machines and equipment required for farming activity, different technologies like Bio-Technology, Micro-Irrigation, Shadenet, Cold Storage, Earthmover, Tractors, Power Tiller, Automatic Equipment, Solar Equipment, Growth Regulators, Agri Publications etc. were displayed at the Exhibition. Lakhs of farmers got incredible exposure by witnessing new products, services, technologies, irrigation systems, input, output, equipment etc. Response to the exhibition was phenomenal as the number of farmers are increasing every year.

Conference on ‘’Dairy Development in Vidarbha’’

Expert Panel Discussion on “Future of Indian Agriculture”

A Conference on “Development of Dairy in Vidarbha” with the support of Mother Dairy was organized at 10th Agrovision on 24th November, 2018. The Dairy conference had discussion on various opportunities and challenges in Dairy and to develop the Dairy industry in Vidarbha. The participants learnt about production, processing,marketing and use of dairy products and gained a broader understanding of Dairy industry and other selected areas. Chief Patron of Agrovision, Shri. Nitin Gadkari; Maharashtra Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries, Shri Mahadev Jankar; Minister of Agriculture of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Surya Pratap Sahi & President of NDDB, Shri Dilip Rath were present at the conference.

Expert panel discussion on “Future of Indian Agriculture” was organized on 25th November, 2018 proved to be a convergence of different views for betterment of farming sector. Breaking barriers of party politics and thinking out of the box to create favourable conditions for agriculture growth is the need of the hour. Working together and working beyond the restricted mind set can only bring the sustainable growth for our farmers, said Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. Economist, Dr. R. S Deshpande; Agriculture Researcher and Educationist, Dr S. A. Patil; President of the committee formed to double the income of farmers, Dr Ashok Dalwai; Dr C D Mayee; PPV and FR president Dr K V Prabhu; President of Farmers Commission of Government of Punjab, Shri Ajay Veer Jakhad; Senior Journalist, Shri G Chandrashekhar Iyer; President of Bharat Krushak Samaj, Shri Krishna Veer Chaudhary; and President of cooperation and industry relation organization, Shri Sagar Kaushik participated in the expert panel discussion. Dr C D Mayee, Chairman of the Agrovision Advisory council, coordinated the Panel d iscuss ion.The expert panel d iscuss ion on ‘Future of Indian Agriculture’ concluded with an address by Shri Nitin Gadkari.

A conference on “Bamboo Production” was organized on 25th November, 2018. Maharashtra will plant 4 lakh bamboo trees next year and Bamboo is a modern wood ’Ka lpavruksha’ and i t i s go ld fo r f a rmers sa id Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar, Maharashtra Minister of Forest, Finance & Planning while inaugurating the conference. Also present at the conference were Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister, Shri Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for MSME, President Zilla Parishad, Mrs. Nisha Sawarkar, Shri N. Rambabu, Managing Director, FDCM, Shri Ravi Boratkar, Organizing Secretary, Agrovision. Some of the topics discussed during the conference were: Maharashtra Bamboo Policy, Bamboo: Current Status & Expectations, Bamboo Overview, Vidarbha Bamboo Farming Development, Bamboo Cluster: Farming & Industries, Bamboo farming for Energy, Bamboo Plantation: A Success Story.

Valedictory Function

10th Agrovision concluded on high note on 26th November 2018 in the presence of Chief Patron, Shri Nitin Gadkari; Mayor, Shrimati. Nanda Jichkar, Dr. C.D. Mayee, Shri Ravi Boratkar, Shri Ramesh Mankar and others. Shri Gadkari announced the dates of 11th edition of Agrovision which is scheduled from 22nd to 25th November, 2019.

Winners of Agrithon essay competition and farmers who have done outstanding work in the field of agriculture were felicitated with prizes and certificates. Shri Nitin Gadkari also announced about a convention centre and training facility for farmers in the city while speaking on the occasion.
