Message from the desk of the president.

The Amarjoyti owes its existence to the efforts, encouragement and perseverance of theconcerned and were brought out on different occasions as the need required by.

The AJRDS implementation of community health care to the community lies with its abilityto affect peoples participation, essential prerequisites for sustainable communitydevelopment programme, more so for health, for it concerns people, their personal,believes and attitude.

The shared ideas of AJRDS in this brief write up may have served its purpose if it couldfurther be of use to plan an effective community based health care delivery system, besidestickling ones cortex in evolving innovative approaches to community health care as ascience that matters to people.

For the sake of emphasis and clarity of the ongoing primary community health careprogramme being implemented by our organization needs an appropriate illustration fromtechnical/professional point of view to provide better service to the community in theremotest tribal area of the operational villages.

I do acknowledge the support of our members and advisers to accomplish this ongoingcommunity health care programme as a successful and model one to be replicate in thisregion.

Health camp and Health Awareness program.

The Organization AJRDS provided free screeningand testing to make the diagnosis moremeaningful. Various tests had beenundertaken during the health camporganized in village Kondagaon and Bastar block.The result was so surprising and ahigh levelof prevalence rate like STI and RTI as wellas UTI was found. VDRL Test of 289 women wasdone and 49 are found positive and proper follow up hadbeen undertaken.During the year the organization organized around 23health camp and reached to 3009 patient with propermedication facilities.

Another achievement of the organizationduring the year was the treatment of referralpatient .23 patient were refereed to Maharanihospital Jagdalpur for treatment the projectteam did the advocacy for the propertreatment of all the patient.

Health education to school children andwomen.

Organization organized livelihood skilltraining during the year around 200 peoplewere trained on Lohari, AgarBati andcarpentry and mason .

Reaching to the unreached areaand providing health care servicealong with awareness is a core

competency of our organizationwhich helped us often tomaterialize our vision and goal.During the year the organizationorganized around 20 awarenessprograms for the children andwomen exclusively on health andhygiene. Through this programorganization generatedawareness among 500 people.

Anganwadi and SHG memberstraining: AJRDS has organizedthree training programmes

during the reporting year withthe objective that to build thecapacity of the AWW so that theformation and the function ofself help group will be effectiveand self started. This training

programme was beingfacilitated by our externalconsultant. Around 57 people

were trained in this trainingprogram. The methodology ofthis training was participatoryand through group discussion

and game. In this training thefollowing subjects were coveredas per the objective of thistraining. The outcome of thetraining, which was shared bythe trainee, was to work moreeffectively and to perform betterin the future course of time.

Training to village healthsanitation committee(VHSC): Taking into

account the area andcommunity AJRDS realizedthe importance to educatethe tribal community onenvironment and sanitation.The objective of the trainingwas To capacitate theVHSC that will ensure afunctional community basedmonitoring framework invillage. During the year outof 110 VHSC of BastarBlock 24 VHSC are being

trained All these trainingprogram were impartedthrough group discussionand game, which was beingfacilitated by externalconsultant. Trainees werehappy to know about thefact and are interested tobring change in the mind setof the people.

the year the project team

conducted study on water andsanitation in the villages and

designed communication strategy

to change the behavior of the

people with a community

monitoring frame work by

promoting and building capacity of

VHSC in the project area. Another

approach to involving children in

this venture as the children are the

change agent .
