A. THIS PLAN IS INTENDED TO DEMONSTRATE GENERAL DEMOLITION AND CONDITIONS

THAT ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR.

B. ALL CONTRACTORS SHALL VISIT THE SITE TO VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS EXPECTED TO

OCCUR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DRAWINGS AND PROJECT MANUAL. FAILURE TO

VISIT THE SITE SHALL NOT RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR FROM FURNISHING ANY

D. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT DEMOLITION TO MINIMIZE INTERFERENCE WITH

ADJACENT STRUCTURES, OCCUPANCIES, AND NORMAL OPERATIONS.

E. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CEASE OPERATIONS AND CONTACT THE ARCHITECT

IMMEDIATELY IF ADJACENT STRUCTURES APPEAR TO BE IN DANGER.

F. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR OF DAMAGES CAUSED

DURING THE DEMOLITION PROCESS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.

G. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE THE OWNER 48 HOUR MINIMUM NOTICE IF THE

DEMOLITION IS EXPECTED TO CAUSE AN INTERRUPTION IN NORMAL OPERATIONS

FOR THE OWNER.

H. ASBESTOS AND LEAD BASED PAINT TESTING HAS BEEN PERFORMED AND THE

REPORTS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT MANUAL. IF ANY MATERIALS SUSPECTED TO

CONTAIN HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ARE UNCOVERED DURING THE DEMOLITION PROCESS,

NOTIFY HE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY. SUCH MATERIALS MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL

TESTING.

I. DISPOSE OF ALL DEMOLISHED MATERIALS OFF-SITE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED TO

BE DELIVERED TO THE OWNER.

J. PRIOR TO DEMOLITION, THE OWNER SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO IDENTIFY ANY ITEMS

WHICH ARE TO REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE OWNER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL

STRUCTURAL NOTES

GENERAL NOTES

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL THOROUGHLY REVIEW ALL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND INFORM THEARCHITECT OF CONFLICTS OR DISCREPANCIES PRIOR TO BIDDING, FABRICATION, ANDCONSTRUCTION.

IF SLAB-ON-GRADE CONTROL JOINT LOCATIONS ARE NOT SHOWN ON PLANS, PROVIDE SAWN CONTROL JOINTS @ 15'-0" ON CENTER MAXIMUM SPACING IN A PATTERN THAT WILL REDUCE SLAB-ON-GRADE CRACKS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE ON DRAWINGS. COORDINATE LOCATIONS WITH THE ARCHITECT AND ENGINEER. RAISED SLABS ON METAL DECK SHALL NOT HAVE CONTROL JOINTS.

8. ACI, AISC, AITC AND AWS SPECIFICATIONS SHALL GOVERN ALL PHASES OF FABRICATION ANDCONSTRUCTION.

SPREAD FOOTINGS

1. ALL UNDERCUTTING, SITE PREPARATION, FILL SELECTION, BACKFILLING AND COMPACTION SHALL BEPERFORMED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS AND SOILS ENGINEER'SRECOMMENDATIONS.

2. BOTTOM OF FOOTING ELEVATIONS (BF) SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE FOR ESTIMATING PURPOSESONLY AND ARE NOT NECESSARILY TO BE USED FOR CONSTRUCTION. THE SOILS ENGINEER OR HISREPRESENTATIVE SHALL BE ENGAGED TO INSPECT ALL FOOTING EXCAVATIONS TO VERIFY THATTHE REQUIRED ALLOWABLE BEARING CAPACITY IS ATTAINABLE. CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT

1. CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT SUPPLIER SHALL SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS TO THE ARCHITECT FORREVIEW PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.

2. ALL REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE ASTM A615, GRADE 60, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

12. WHERE ANCHOR RODS ARE CAST INTO CONCRETE, PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL REINFORCING EACHWAY, TIED NEAR THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF ALL ANCHOR RODS TO THE ADJACENT REBAR TOSECURE RODS DURING CONCRETE PLACEMENT. (MINIMUM SIZE #4)

13. IF IT IS NECESSARY FOR PLUMBING TO PASS THROUGH FOOTINGS, PLACE IN PIPE PENETRATION SLEEVE. DO NOT PLACE PLUMBING PARALLEL TO AND INSIDE OF FOOTING.

14. IF IT IS NECESSARY FOR PLUMBING TO PASS THROUGH GRADE BEAMS HORIZONTALLY, LOCATE IN MIDDLE 1/3 OF BEAM AND PLACE IN PIPE PENETRATION SLEEVE. DO NOT PENETRATE BEAM VERTICALLY.

CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE

1. CONCRETE SUPPLIER SHALL SUBMIT CONCRETE MIX DESIGN DATA TO THE ARCHITECT FOR REVIEWPRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.

2. CONCRETE SHALL HAVE AT LEAST THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS AT 28 DAYS:

A. FOOTINGS, GRADE BEAMS 3000PSIB. SLABS-ON-GRADE 4000PSI

3. MIX DESIGN SHALL INCLUDE AT LEAST THE FOLLOWING AMOUNTS OF PORTLAND CEMENT MEETINGASTM C150 OR D595 PER CUBIC YARD OF CONCRETE.

4. PROPORTIONS OF CONCRETE MIX DESIGNS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE PROCEDURESESTABLISHED IN SECTION 5.3 OF ACI 318-99.
