Hello and congratulations onpurchasing a Breezair DuctedCooler for your home.

Breezair coolers have beendesigned to provide quiet, reliable and cool comfort.

At Seeley International wem a n u f a c t u r e B r e e z a i revaporative coolers from thehighest quality materials, and wehave designed the product top r o v i d e m a n y y e a r s o feconomical, trouble free cooling.

Please take a few moments tor e a d t h e s e o p e r a t i n ginstructions, so that the most canbe gained from this investment.

The appliance is not intended foruse by young children or infirmpersons without supervision;young children should besupervised to ensure they do notplay with the appliance.

Breezair coolers are fitted withe i t h e r a Wa l l M o u n t e dThermostat Control or a RemoteThermostat Control. Please referto the relevant section in thismanual for instructions on how tooperate either system. Also,p lease be aware of thecomponents and features thatare fitted to your particularcooler.

Keep these instructions in a safeplace for future reference.

EFFECTIVE COOLING

To provide efficient cooling orventilation the building musth a v e s u f f i c i e n t e x h a u s topenings to the outside of thebuilding. To assist air flow, openwindows and doors that arefarthest from the outlet vent ineach room. In these rooms, provide an exhaust openingabout 2 times the vent size of theroom.

Where the design of the buildingprevents adequate exhaust, consideration should be given tothe provision of mechanicalextractions, such as an exhaustfan.

In areas where temperaturescan cause water supply pipes tofreeze, a drain down facilityshould be provided during theinstallation. This drain down facility must beactivated prior to freezingconditions, to avoid possibled a m a g e t o t h e c o o l e rcomponents.

If the supply cord is damaged, itmust be replaced with a specialcord ava i lab le f rom themanufacturer or its serviceagents.

WATER MANAGER

The Breezair remote control isfitted with the WaterManagerfeature which automaticallymonitors the quality of the waterin the cooler.

The WaterManager drains theexisting water in the cooler toallow it to be replaced with freshwater, only when it is needed. Therefore, you may notice yourcooler draining wateroccasionally. How often theWaterManager performs thisoperation depends upon thequality of the water supply andthe rate of evaporation.

In areas of poor water quality, the WaterManager willoperate more often as it tries tomaintain the optimum waterquality in the cooler. Thismaximises the cooling effectand life of the cooling pads.

The remote control has aunique feature attached to theWaterManager that allows youto specify either high or lowsalinity settings. The low salinitysetting is used in specificcircumstances only. Werecommend talking with yourdealer before adjusting thissetting.

The high salinity setting isdesigned to operate the coolerat a maximum safe salinitylevel to maintain a normalworking life. It also results in aminimum usage of water .

NOTE: High salinity outletwater should not be used onsalt sensitive grass or plants. Ithas a high salt content.

The current WaterManagersetting is displayed by holdingdown the button andpressing the button. Thesetting can be changed byholding down the buttonand pressing either theor button for HI and LOrespectively.

The factory defaultWaterManager setting is HI.For areas operating with borewater, DIP switch F should beswitched to off (see page 10).This will disable the salinitymeasuring circuit and simplydrain water from the tank every65 minutes of operation.

BATTERIES

The remote control requires 3AAA batteries. The use of goodquality alkaline batteries isrecommended. Under normalconditions a set of batteries willoperate for 12 months. Werecommend that you replace thebatteries before each season.

When the batteries are gettinglow on power, BATTERY LOW isdisplayed on the screen (thecooler may also switch off whilethe display remains ON). Thisindicates that the batteries haveonly a small amount of liferemaining.

To change the batteries removethe cover from the back of theremote control. Pull out the oldbatteries and replace them allwith the new ones. Do not mixnew batteries with old batteries. The remote control has 2 mins.of back-up power to retain itsmemory while the batteries arebeing changed. If this time isexceeded, turn the power off tothe cooler and wait until thescreen goes blank. Restore thepower and fit the batteries within4 minutes.

Do not use rechargeablebatteries as their voltage ratingis too low for the remote control.

DIP SWITCHES

There are 2 rows of DIP switcheslocated under the battery coveron the remote control.

Definition of DIP switch positions(first 6 in bottom row only) are asfollows:

Your cooler is fitted with one oftwo water managementsystems designed to control thewater salinity and optimise thelife of the pads in your cooler.

BLEED SYSTEM

DRAIN VALVE

If fitted, the bleed system, pictured on page 16, willconstantly drain small amountsof water during the operation ofthe cooler. This allows freshwater to be added diluting anyminerals and salts accumulated.

The bleed rate for your coolerwill depend on local operatingconditions and will be set by theinstaller.

If your cooler has been installedwith a drain valve it isaccompanied by theWaterManager salinity probes. When the tank’s water salinitylevel reaches a preset level theWaterManager will open thedrain valve and release about 6to 8 litres. Fresh water will thenbe added diluting any mineralsor salts accumulated. TheWater Manager will continueto monitor and drain water asrequired.

Alternatively, the cooler can beset to drain 6 to 8 litres of waterat a preset period of pump

operating time. This can be setby changing the salinity controlmethod selector if using thewall control, or DIP switch F ifusing the remote control.

NOTE: When the cooler’s tankis empty and the cooler isturned on again, the fanoperation will be delayed as thetank is refilled and the pads aresaturated.

If the power in your home goesoff for less than 5 seconds thecooler will retain its currentsettings. That is, it will stop forthe time the power is off butresume operation when thepower comes back on again.

If the power goes off for morethan 5 seconds the cooler willautomatically turn itself off. Thatis, once the power comes backon the cooler will not resumeoperation. You will have to turnthe cooler back on using thewall control or remote control.

seasonal

Seasonal maintenance is onlyrequired if you have a coolerfitted with a bleed system. Thefollowing pages outline themaintenance required at the endof the season and then at thestart of the next season. Thisensures that your coolercontinues to operate efficiently.

If your cooler is fitted with a drainvalve no seasonal maintenanceis required. Routine maintenance maybe required more frequently ina d v e r s e e n v i r o n m e n t a lsituations and very dusty areas.

Note

Failure to carry out regularmaintenance will affect yourwarranty coverage.
