1 Introduction The purpose of this guide is to provide information regarding procedures and re-usability guidelines and Camso tracks and wheels. Descriptions are presented to allow the dealer to better understand which types of damage are acceptable, or not acceptable, for tracks and wheels to be re-used. Rubber track systems are used in a wide variety of applications and operating conditions. Various types of damage may occur during service life. In most cases where damage has occurred, repair is not necessary or feasible. Many times wear or damage only results in poor aesthetics. Operational functionality and performance, however, remain intact. In other cases, damage is severe enough to render the track not reusable.

2 Rubber Track System Terminology In order to use this guide, many system and component terms referenced throughout this document must be understood. The following section discusses these terms.

Friction Drive System Track systems which use the frictional force between the drive wheel and track are known as friction drive systems. Friction drive systems rely on the coefficient of friction between rubber and rubber, or rubber and steel, along with high track tension, to transmit the tractive force of the machine from the drive train to the track.

Track Construction The illustration below shows some of the basic terminology used when referring to an agricultural track. For additional definitions of the track system terms used throughout this document.

A – Main Cable / Tension Cable B – Guide Lug / Drive Lug C – Alignment Plies D – Treadbar / Traction Lug E – Inner Track Surface F – Reinforcement Plies

Camso tracks are constructed using a combination of natural and synthetic rubber, steel plies and a high tensile continuous wound main cable. The main cable gives the track tension strength, while at the same time maintaining lateral flexibility. The alignment and reinforcement plies protect the carcass, provide uniform track alignment, and increase lateral stiffness to better distribute loads across the track width. The tread bars are molded into specific shapes and sizes depending on the application, and guide and drive lugs come in various shapes and sizes depending on the requirements of the track design.

3 Product Identification

Remanufactured Track The track part number, manufacturing date (MMYY format) and serial number (6 digit number) are located on both sides of the track on the edge of the carcass. Tracks that have been remanufactured will be identified by a part number prefixed by “R” and with a multi-life suffix designation (“ML”).

Reman Track Identification Camso Reman P/N Date Code Orig.Serial #

• Tracks built from 3500 & 4500 series carcass would use reman P/N pattern: R00XX101 • Tracks built from 5500 & 6500 series carcass would use reman P/N pattern: R00XX301

Remanufactured Wheels Camso elastomeric coated wheels are not serialized but use manufacturing date codes to aid in traceability. The date codes are stamped into the wheel near the bolt circle. Wheels that have been remanufactured with new rubber/PU covering will be identified by a multi-life designation (“ML”) after the reman part number in the coating. Note: Camso can only accept approved wheels for remanufacturing. If in doubt, please contact Camso to verify re-manufacturability before shipping wheels to a Camso.

4 Warranty Camso remanufactured products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, for the portion of the Product that has been remanufactured by Camso. Tracks Camso remanufactured track used in agricultural applications is warranted for a period of 48 months, limited to 2000 hours, from date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Track that becomes unserviceable as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship, as determined by Camso, will be replaced, or allowance will be given towards purchase of replacement Camso track, at Camso’s option. Carcass failures resulting from fatigue or damage after the remanufacturing process are not covered under warranty. Carcass failures resulting from pre-existing conditions prior to remanufacturing may be warrantable and will be reviewed by Camso on a case by case basis. Remanufactured track is not approved for use in non-ag (scraper) applications. Some limitations apply. See Camso warranty certificate CPB-0361b for more details. Wheels Camso remanufactured coated wheels (Rubber or PU) carry a warranty term of 12 months from the date of sale to the end user, covering defects in materials and workmanship on the rubber or PU material, the adhesive, and bond quality. The warranty coverage is non-prorated and does not include a labor allowance. Steel cores do not carry any warranty.

Guide Lugs

Delamination/Smooth Separation

Torn/Jagged Separation

If guide lug wear/damage is limited to only one side of the guide lug, root cause investigation must be completed to rule track carcass issues out. Contact Camso Product Support for more information regarding this investigation. Track core will not be accepted without confirmation from Product Support Engineer.
