1 INNOvATIONS

The newly developed pre-insulated RAUVITHERM pipe system from REHAU combines ultimate flexibility, outstanding heat insulation properties and maximum reliability. Available as single pipe (up to d110) or twin pipe (up to d63) and accompanied by a complete range of fittings and accessories, RAUVITHERM ideally adapts to every purpose. The pronounced corrugations on the outer jacket make these pipes easy to lay in biogas plants or in existing buildings and coil lengths of up to 300 m make them economical to lay, even over greater distances.

In the new renewable heating network market it is often necessary to extend existing grids as well as to combine different pre-insulated pipe systems. With the new, flexible RAUVITHERM socket system, REHAU provides a flexible socket system for effecting heating pipe joints as well as branches, up to an outer diameter of 220 mm. Tried and tested REHAU heat shrink technology enables the system to be adapted to any standard outer diameter. PUR foam is applied to minimises heat loss in the pipe joints.

3.1 RAUBIO Fermenter Heating System

RAUBIO Fermenter Heating in high quality PE-Xa, which demonstrates a high resistance to scoring and the propagation of stress cracks. In addition to high acid, temperature and pressure resistance, a diffusion barrier layer reduces the permeation of hydrocarbons. In contrast with other materials such as stainless steel, there is no microbiological corrosion (MIC).

The RAUVITHERM district heating system allows optimum heat transport with minimum energy loss. UNO design with one and DUO variant with two carrier pipes in high-pressure crosslinked polyethylene (RAU-PE-Xa), in accordance with DIN 16892/93. Corrugated outer jacket allows flexible laying with tight bending radii.

4.1.5 Safety-Related InformationThe carrier pipes in PE-Xa can be processed with the fittings from the manuf-acturers represented on the market, in accordance with all normal procedures and in observance of the current technical regulations. Joints should be made only with permanently sealed (undetachable) connecting elements. The joint may also be made by welding, in accordance with the regulations of directive DVS 2207 part 1.Caution: PE-Xa can only be welded with FUSAPEX electrofusion fittings (tem-perature resistance from -40 °C to 95 °C) only by trained specialist personnel. Butt welding is not possible! Due to the high temperatures occurring in heat networks, welded joints cannot be used with PE 100 fusion fittings.

6.1 Biomass Transport System in RAU-PP

Uniformly compatible sewer and chamber system for optimum pressure-free biomass transport. Flexibility and robustness are combined in one system, which is highly resistant to the highest levels of stress from outside, thanks to its high ring stiffness and impact strength. The high quality, filler-free polypro-pylene material guarantees long durability. Other advantages include the high abrasion resistance and a high level of chemical resistance. 7 RAUPROTECT GAS TRANSPORT SYSTEM

7.1 RAUPROTECT in PE 100-RC GAS Gas Transport System

The modern pressure pipe, RAUPROTECT, in polyolefin materials combines all the required properties for the safe transport of biogas: the greatest resistance to damage from point loads as well as being chemically resistant and corros-ion resistant especially to biogas.

7.1.1 Scope of ValidityThis information is applicable for buried REHAU gas pipes in RAU-PE 100 RC GAS in accordance with German Gas and Water Association regulation (DVGW) G 472 for the transport of combustible gases in accordance with DVGW regulations G 260 and G 280-1.The greatest permissible operating pressure is given in the table below.

7.1.4 Safety-Related Information - RAUPROTECT gas pipes are to be used exclusively for transporting gases in accordance with G 260, G 280-1 and biogas.

Do not use them: - For distributing gases inside buildings - For transporting drinking water - For transporting compressed air - Overground laying of gas pipes in PE 100-RC GAS is not permitted without special protective measures.

Pipes in RAU-PE 100 are normally flammable (building material class B 2) in accordance with DIN 4102 part 1. Gas pipes in PE 100-RC GAS can be processed with the fittings of the manufacturers represented on the market, in accordance with all normal procedures and in observance of the current technical regulations. The connection is to be made exclusively by welding in accorance with the guidelines as per directive DVS 2207 part 1.The welding of pressure pipes is to be undertaken only by trained specialist personnel.
