British Board of Film Classification (BBFC)

The British board of film classification are a company that make sure that a film has got the appropriate material for the audience it is aimed at. This is why they apply age restrictions to films because there are certain things in movies such as language, violence and drug use this is why the films with this contain in are generally for 18 year olds and above. What the BBFC do is they watch clips of a film and decide which bits are appropriate and which bits need cutting, and if the film needs banning.

The websites I used :

Video Standards Council (VSC)

The vsc was established in 1989, the two things that the vsc is for is:

It is a standard body for the video and video games industries and has a code of practice designed to ensure that both industries show a duty of care in their dealings with customers and public generally.

Also it acts as an administrator of the PEGI system of age rating for video games. PEGI is used in over 30 countries, it is the UK regulator responsible for the age rating of videos supplied in the UK.

The Trading Standards Institute (TSI) is a professional association which represents trading standards professionals working in local authorities, business and consumer sectors and in central government in the UK and overseas.

Press ComplaintsCommission (PCC)

They look at what the press have to say about the film, because if the press complain about the film and the public read it they are not going to go watch the film because they are going to think that the film isn’t good. So this is why the press complaints commission is there so they can check what each complaint is.
