Bichard Inquiry

The inquiry opened on 13 January 2004.

Humberside and Cambridgeshire police forces were heavily criticised for their failings in maintaining intelligence records on Ian Huntley.

Investigations & Intelligence

IWS discovered containing a range of items including tyres, car batteries, garden waste and some WEEE.

Incident comes in as report on NIRS with full reporter details

You’ll deal with the incident as usual

…BUT…

Whilst you are there you are approached by a sweet little old lady out walking her prize Pomeranians FiFi and Sweetums. She tells you it’s such a shame and an awful mess. She bets it was that scallywag she saw in a white van the other day with the back doors open. It was parked just there and had something like Coopers Clarence on the side.

A Few of the Benefits…To be equipped with all available information (Hostile Sites).

To be targeted in our approach to environmental crime and offenders.

To identify emerging issues before they become a problem.

To provide new lines of enquiry for ongoing investigations.

To increase the communication between teams and regions.

Better Partnership working – NIM is universal.

Lawful collecting, storing and dissemination of information (DP etc.).

To take a threat assessed approach to issues and seek to resolve them by understanding the root causes

To build and manage organisational memory for the benefit of everyone.
