MAHOPAC GOLF CLUBSituated on the majestic, rolling countryside of New York’s southern Putnam County, Mahopac Golf Club is among the oldest clubs in the US. It was founded in 1898, only ten years after the game was introduced to America. Like the game of golf itself, the club has advanced over the last century. In 2006, the club renovated the 5,000 square foot lakefront property, making it the only club in the area with a private beach. The course, which features well bunkered greens, is considered by many to be one of the area’s most beautiful and most challenging.

THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION GOLF OUTING
Support a great cause while improving your handicap, getting some sun, and mingling with colleagues! Join us Monday, June 13th for a day on the links in support of the SEAoNY Education Foundation.
Proceeds from the golf outing provide scholarships for students who are chosen by that year’s Honorary SEAoNY Member. This past year, scholarships were awarded to Paul Senica and Anthony Liccese, who are both students at Manhattan College.
In addition, each year the Education Foundation provides a scholarship to a high school senior from the Urban Assembly School for Design and Construction to support them as they go on to represent our industry and become leaders in promoting our profession. Last year’s scholarship winner was Darwin Saldivar who is now attending the City College of New York.
For 2016 the proceeds from the golf outing will also go to support the educational mission of the Center for Architecture Foundation.
Darwin Saldivar accepts a scholarship check for $5,000 from the first SEAoNY Golf Outing Scholarship recipient Caitlin Slattery.
OUR MISSIONWe started this event ten years ago with a goal of encouraging young people to enter our profession by supporting area college and university students study-ing structural engineering. Since then, we have been able to expand our goals thanks to your generosity. We also award scholarships to graduating high school students from the Urban Assembly School for Design and Construction and support the Center for Architec-ture Foundation. We have distributed over $138,000 to these great causes so far. With greater demands on our aging infrastructure, the need for bright young struc-tural engineers is more critical than ever. Please come join us in helping students and supporting the field of engineering all while having a great time!
