    COLLEGE REGISTRATION POLICYBy registering for classes at Mott Community College, you accept responsibility for reading and conforming to all policies,procedures, required dates, fees and other requirements published online, in the college catalog and in the class schedule book.

    HOW TO APPLYFOR ADMISSIONAll students must apply foradmission to Mott CommunityCollege before registering for aclass.

    New Students1. Complete an admission application.Apply online, and submit SignatureVerification Form to any MCC campus.Applicants under the age of 22 need torequest a high school transcript, to be sentto Mott Community College Admissions Office, 1401 East CourtStreet, Flint MI, 48503.2. Apply for Financial Aid.www.fafsa.ed.gov3. Placement TestingAll new degree or certificate seeking stu-dents are required to complete English,reading and math placement testing beforeregistering for classes. Students who havetaken the ACT test may bring copies ofthose scores, to testing, for considerationof having portions of the MCC placementtest waived. The Testing & AssessmentCenter is located in PCC2010,

    (810) 762-0372. Placement testing is alsoavailable at Southern Lakes BranchCenter (SLBC), Northern Tier and Lapeerextension sites.

    4. Career PlanningMott Community College offers assis-tance with your career planning process. Ifyou are unsure about your career path,you should first meet with and developyour career plans with a counselor. Tomake an appointment please visitCounseling & Student Development,PCC2030 or call (810) 762-0111. If you know what careers you would liketo explore, you are encouraged to visit theCareer Resource Center, PCC2050, whereyou can use the computerized careermaterials including the DISCOVER andMichigan Occupational InformationSystem (M.O.I.S.) programs, as well asother career resources. Visit or call (810)762-0250.5. OrientationAll new degree or certificate seeking stu-dents are required to attend an orientationsession to learn about: MCC and various college services

Students taking classes at an MCC Branch Center should call for an orientation appointment at theappropriate Center: Southern Lakes(SLBC) (810) 762-5000; Lapeer(LAPR) (810) 667-4166; Northern Tier (NTC) (810) 232-8044.

    7. Academic AdvisingAll new degree and certificate seekingstudents who have decided on a programmajor must schedule an advising sessionwith an academic adviser. This allowsyou to establish a relationship with a fac-ulty member knowledgeable in yourmajor, to discuss career directions, and toplan a class schedule and select appropri-ate courses. Call the Academic AdvisingCenter at (810) 762-0331 to speak with anAcademic Advisor. Undecided andGeneral Studies students should speakwith a Counselor. Call the CounselingCenter at (810) 762-0111. AcademicAdvising is also available at SLBC, NTCand Lapeer.

    8. Register for classes and confirm yourmethod of payment.9. Follow up on your method of pay-ment within the next two business daysor your classes will be dropped.

    Former MCC StudentsIf you have not attended classes at MCCwithin the last five years, please completean updated MCC Admissions applicationat any campus location before registering.

    Not Seeking A Degree OrCertificate?If you are not currently seeking a degreeor a certificate, you may want to requestNon-Candidate for Degree (NCFD) status.You may request NCFD status and beexempt from placement testing and orien-tation unless you want to enroll in collegelevel English or mathematics. For more

    information regarding NCFD status pleasespeak to a representative from theAdmissions Office or the Counseling andStudent Development Office. Studentswith NCFD status are not eligible forfinancial aid.

    Transfer Students1. Apply online, and submit SignatureVerification Form to any MCC campus.We also have extension centers in Fenton,Lapeer and Clio. Have an official tran-script mailed directly from your previouscollege to the Registrars Office.2. Take a copy of your unofficial collegetranscripts to the Placement Testing Officefor review. If you have completedEnglish composition, math, and at leastone content area class requiring extensivereading, you are not required to take aplacement test.3. After you are admitted, you should seean academic advisor or counselor forassistance in planning your class schedule.

    Guest StudentsStudents Enrolled in Other Colleges:Students who are enrolled in other col-leges and universities are invited to attendclasses at MCC. Submit to theAdmissions Office, PCC2140, or one ofour other centers in Fenton (SLBC),Lapeer or Clio (the Northern Tier Center)one of the following:1) A completed Guest Application (avail-able at all Michigan colleges and universi-ties) with specific courses to be taken atMCC listed. 2) A letter
