The Northeast has few natural resources.- (compared to other regions)

- The Appalachian Mountains- thin, rocky soils and steep

hills (rugged)- make some parts of the Northeast a challenge forfarmers

Megalopolis - based on the Greek meaning “a very large city”- coastal cities began to spread and run together.- the suburbs of one city stretched to the suburbs of the next- example: area from Boston to Washington D.C
