How to Register as a SWEeter Futures UserAll SWE Members Interested in Outreach Should Register
User Registration, Login and Profile InstructionsTo register as a volunteer go to www.swe.org/sweeterfutures and click “Register” to create your SWEeter futures profile.
1. You will then receive an email. Please click on the link to create your own password.
2. Upon creating your password your SWEeter Futures user account will be active and you will be taken to a screen like the one below. Please set up your volunteer profile (step 1) and find volunteer opportunities (step 2). Keep track of your planning and participation hours. After the event return to SWEeter Futures and submit your hours (step 3).

SWEeter Futures Group Manager Access/LoginThe Group Manager has special administrative privileges that allow the ability to add events to the system, promote these events, monitor volunteer rosters and assign other Event Managers.Group Manager usernames and passwords have been pre-loaded into SWEeter Futures for all sections. They follow a pattern for ease of use more efficient transferability. Multiple users may use Group Manager access. Login with Group Manager access by going to www.swe.org/sweeterfutures
User Name: (your SWE code)GM So the Los Angeles section would have a username of B002GM
Password: swe1950Each of these Group Manager accounts must be connected to an email address that the Group Manager can access.
We have pre-loaded the system with a generic Gmail account using the following guidelinesUser Name: swe(section code)[email protected]
So the Los Angeles section would be [email protected]: society1950If you choose to use this email address as your outreach email, please go to www.gmail.com and set it up. You may request a swe.org alias for this email address at [email protected].
If you have an existing email address you would prefer to use for SWEeter Futures, simply log in with the Group Manager user name and password and update your profile to reflect that email address.

Adding and Managing Events
• Log in using your Group Manager user name and password• Click on the “Manage” Tab• Select “Create New Event” and follow the prompts.
Promote Your Event to Attract Volunteers
•Once an event has been created in SWEeter Futures, you can promote it via the “Promote” feature.•Click on the “Manage” Tab.•Select “Manage Events”•Click “Promote” next to the event and follow the prompts.

Our Asks of the Governors
General Actions
o Champion the resource with excitement.
o Distribute this information to all Section Reps so they can waterfall down to sections.
o Communicate about SWEeter Futures at all meetings and telecons.
• Provide a list of SWEeter Futures Champions. One per section. This could be the Outreach Chair,
Secretary, or President. Fill out a spread sheet with the following information and email it to
[email protected] by Friday, August 31, 2012
Actions with Time Sensitivity
Incentiveso Free Agilent Kits for any section that adds an event in SWEeter Futures and has at least 10 volunteers signed up.
Entered into SWEeter Futures by September 28th, 2012 – 50 Kits
Entered inter SWEeter Futures after September 28th, 2012 – 25 kits
SWEet Rewards for Early Adopters
Add an event in SWEeter Futures, have a minimum of 10 volunteers register for that event by September 28th, 2012 and earn 50 free Agilent Kits of your choosing.
See all kits at www.swe.org/store and click on Agilent Kits. Each kit serves four students . After September 28th, eligibility moves from 50 to 25 Kits, so act quickly.
To claim your kits:
• Email [email protected] once you have met the requirements with your kit order.
• Note: the 50 kits will only be awarded to those who have emailed Randy on or before September 28th. Those meeting the requirements and requesting kits after September 28th will be eligible for 25 kits.
