•The name Mumbai is derived from Mumba or Maha-Amba—the name of the Koli goddess Mumbadevi—and Aai, "mother" in Marathi – the language of the mumbaikar. •Mumbai has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical wet and dry climate, with seven months of dryness and heavy rains in July.• Mumbai consists of two distinct regions: Mumbai City District and Mumbai Suburban district, which form two separate revenue districts of Maharashtra.

• It is primarily a residential area with 3 railway lines, bus depots and two important highways western and eastern. Being a linear city east and west is the east of and the west of the railway line. • Goregaon is an upcoming suburb of Mumbai which is a balanced mixture of malls and multiplexes and a fast developing residential area with some offices and markets around.
