The enell1Y .ms fired upon with small arms. Hedevac \rc:.s called and completed at 0315 hours. At 1115 hours, Co B found (vic YC 307939) 1200 Ibs of polished rice and 40 Ibs of TNT. Both wore destroyed in place.

(c) Co C: Commenced early RIP opel' at ions in assigned AO and reportGd at 1121 hours the finding of 1 hooch, 10'X6 I X5', containing garden tools and 5 gallons of kerosene . Tho hooch was surrounded by a garden. All lwre destroyed . (a ) Co A: At 0800 hours, Co A r eported their forward element had received RFG fire and was in heavy contact. 3 US were \.JHA with shrapnel. Hedovao was called and completed at 1020 hours, At 1035 hours, Co A engaged and killed 3 NVA in bunkers. Search of the bunker area revealod AK'n, RIG's, and one .51 Cal MG. Since it was necessary to continue the attack illllOOd1ately, Co A was tmable to acourately count all the weapons but reported to the En Comma.nd Group, that Co C was following them and would piCk up all weapons, Numerous bunkers wore destroyed during the next few hours, and sporadic enemy contact continued until 1405 hours \,hen Co A spotted 1 NVA and fired on hin. FAC reported to Bn Commani Gr')up that ono of his jets received heavy !W.chine gun fire from Hill 916, (vic YC 315970). Artillery fire was placed on this area. Co A began movement at. (J1I.5 hours and made sporadic contact with the enemy throughout t he morninG hour s . At 1215 hours, (vic YC 327977), Co A fOlUld 4 satchel charges, and 1,000 AK rounds. All were destroyed. Visual contact was established with elements of 1-502 Abn Inf at 1240 hours, after which Co A withdl'e\{ to the west, continuing theiT search and destroy mission.

All bunk0rs 'ind supplies were destroyed. At 1715 hours, Co B found 26 NVA KIA that had been recently killed by,air strikes or artillery.

(c) Co C: Began movement at 0945 hours. At iliO hours, (vic YC 327-968) Co C found 7 NVA KIA's who were killed by small arms fire. Sporadic fire was received throughout the day, and at 1630 hours, (vic YC 324969) Co C fOU11d 11 .,ell-constructed bunkers that had boen destroyed by artillery or air strikes.
