It also happens to be for us Refreshment Sunday, Harvest Thanksgiving and Mothering Sunday! A lot to celebrate! On this one day amid the other thirty-nine of this penitential season we are allowed to loosen up a little. On this Sunday we are permitted to dispense with whatever Lenten regimen of fasting we may have imposed upon ourselves and indulge – moderately – without guilt. And on this Sunday we are told to make a truly joyful noise to God with hymns and organ, and even array our altars with gloriously col- oured flowers and fruits – a celebration that immediately calls to mind our gospel story and the father’s celebration at his youngest son’s return. On this Sunday, we are meant to cast our eyes forward to the end of this season of penitence. On this Sunday we are called to anticipate the joy of Christ’s Resurrection, to celebrate the fulfillment of God’s promise of redemption. Thank you to everyone who supported Kay’s farewell at the Vicarage last Sunday.

The Bishops have requested that all parishes stop the practice of intinction during Holy Communion for health and safety reasons. As of today we will not be providing intinction.

Thank you to those who have supported our local Food Bank by bringing canned food this morning.

To help with catering - if you would like to attend this years Seder Meal on Maundy Thursday could you please add you name to the list at the back of the church.

We are in desperate need of Volunteers to transport people to and from the Selwyn Centre on Wednesday mornings. If you can help contact Jennie or talk to Stephen.

If you would like to be part of, or know more about our All Comers’ Choir for Easter, please contact Liz Smith 021 02218058 or Suzanne Walton 027 500 2114.

Contributions to the cost of our Pascal Candle for this coming year would be gratefully received. Please leave your contribution at the church office.
