It is certainly no coincidence that in today’s sports the winners appear to have ever larger teams of individuals supporting them. Technical support, physical support, lifestyle support, nutrition support and the list goes on. KNOW WHERE TO FIND EXTRA HELP THE SUPPLEMENT GUIDE KNOW YOUR SUPPLEMENTS -THE COURSE OUR TRADE PARTNERSThe start point to a successful approach of selecting and using supplements is to understand the theory and the science on which products are formulated. Starting in 2014, we will be running PT education courses from our site here just outside of Brighton. Structured to provide personal trainers with level 3 REPS accredited points, the attendees will have the chance to demonstrate and develop their knowledge of ingredients and some of the science behind sports nutrition. Once attendees have attended the course, they will receive a REPS accredited certificate and will appear on our website with contact details.

Another great source of information is the retail network of shops. Of course, many retailers will have a vested commercial interested in particular brands, ours included so rather than ask which brand is best, ask why, ask them to show you the differences on labels, ask them to explain the differences between particular ingredients. There are also other simple ways of more accurately understanding what the label of your supplement is telling you.

The label provides an accurate assessment of the ingredients contained within the product, for more numerately minded consumers, it is possible to calculate the high and low end of ingredient quantities within a particular product by first calculating as if the first ingredient represented nearly 100% of the product and other ingredients representing trace amounts, which

would be perfectly legal. Then to calculate the high end of each subsequent ingredient, divide the total proprietary weight of the blend by the ingredient’s position in the blend. However by carrying out such procedures it often becomes evident that many companies do not provide enough of a particular ingredient, in order to be effective according to clinical and empirical evidence.

For example, if we take a hypothetical proprietary blend listed to contain 2,000mg of ingredients comprised of four ingredients. If the weight of the blend’s total volume (2,000mg) is divided by the number of ingredients (4), there must be a minimum of 500mg of the ingredient listed first. Any less and it could not represent the first ingredient listed in the blend. Moreover the proprietary blend could also contain 2000mg of the ingredient listed first, and just trace quantities of the other three ingredients.

We operate our state of the art factories to the highest environmental standards. As well as these factories, we have satellite buildings that are used for storage. All of these units use renewable sources of energy supplied by . Their electricity is harnessed from natural sources, like the wind, sun and water which neither pollute or contribute to climate change. They call these Deep Green sources because they are the ultimate in clean electricity generation.

The building design incorporates sunpipes and rooflights throughout providing natural light and reducing the need for electric lighting – when an area is not adequately lit but is occupied, low energy fluorescent and LED lighting is used to provide sunlight compensation. There is also a 10 kW wind turbine with facility to send excess power generated back to the National Grid and a 200 panel, 50kW solar pv installation on the south facing roofs on three of the buildings. This provides us with a landmark operation that sets enviable standards when it comes to environmental credentials. The building also incorporates Solaboost, Solavent and Windcatcher technology to provide natural ventilation in place of conventional air conditioning systems.
