Choice tasks
Write a letter to yourself at the beginning of S2. What do you want to tell yourself? What do you want to remind them of? What do they need to know.
Sketch out some of your favourite moments in S2. Share them with the people who are in these memories – they will love to see it and hear from you.
Write an email/tweet to me, giving me feedback on English in EN6 this year. Your experiences matter to me – I want to learn from you.
Write a list of goals for S3. They could be personal goals, academic goals, wider achievement goals… you choose.
Choose and complete at least one of these tasks☺
Reading homework
Everyone should have a reading book that they’ve taken from the library, or have at home.
You should be reading every week.
Set yourself a reading target and stick to it. There are further reading-based tasks on the ‘English tasks grid’ for you if you’re looking to think harder about your reading book.
I would love to hear what you’re reading and if you’re enjoying it – let me know!
Non-fiction article homeworkYou have a non-fiction article to read every week. This week your article is: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/52397246
You should read the article and then answer the non-fiction article Qs in your homework jotter (I’ve attached them to remind you)
Q1. Read the headline and make a prediction about what the article will be about.
Q2. Find three words you are not familiar with. Look up their meaning and write them down. If there are no unfamiliar words, write three alternative words you could use in place of the writer’s words.
Q3. Write down five sentences which summarise the article’s ideas.
Q4. Write down any questions you have after reading the article.
