Year 12 Media – Preliminary Task Reflection We were asked to make a small video for our Preliminary task, as we have finished talking about the different types of camera movements, shots, sound, props, effects, and Mis on Scene. We were asked to do this task so that we could show how much we have learnt, and if we know how to use them correctly. I had partnered up with my friend, Luqman, to create our video together. We made it relating to the film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. I made the script, while he created the storyboard. Personally, I think it went well, mainly because of it being the first time I’ve ever created an in real life video, and edited it. I think the editing went well, as I have edited some videos before, let alone the camera work. The filming was made very easy with the camera’s tripod, which was easier, and made it look better with it not being hand-held, which would be very wobbly. We got help from a friend (Daniel) to help record the bits where we couldn’t find a suitable place to leave the camera at, let it be because of no space, or no stance availability. I think that the filming went well, as we had placed the camera at good places, for it not to move, or wobble, or anything. I also think that Daniel, a friend of ours, also did well with the hand-held position of the camera. Year 12 Media – Preliminary Task Reflection

We were asked to make a small video for our Preliminary task, as we have finished talking about the different types of camera movements, shots, sound, props, effects, and Mis on Scene. I’m pleased that we got above the time limit that was needed, quite far, because we had to make it longer because of the effects. We had recorded some bits that were either at the wrong tilt, or wobbling slightly, so we had to re-record that, which was some of our difficulties, as they were long parts, and we didn’t know that it was wobbling, or wrong tilt. If I were to re-create this project again, then I think we would of thought of a different, yet better idea of what kind of short video we would make, like the film type, mainly because then we could come up with more ideas, and since we didn’t use our time properly, then we ran out of time, and had to quickly think of a quick one to make, which is when Willy Wonka’s re- creation came into my head, as an idea. I learned more about the video editor, and how to make a video much better, by using it’s given effects, like for example, fading in, and fading out, but also, slow-motion.
