Congratulations and Thank You for your purchase! DryJoistEZ is an easy to install structural aluminum joist, that also provides a watertight deck drainage system. Provided are general instructions for the installation of the system and additional engineering details. STEP 5: Continue with Install

After the first 4” or 6” main-joist has been installed and fastened down, continue installing the remaining joists by repeating either 6” main-joists or 4” multi-joists profiles.

STEP 6: Outer Multi-Joist

Install a 4” multi-joist as the end/edge profile to give the substructure a finished appearance.

Installation is identical to 6” panels with the exception of the fastening method – use 1-½” SS hex head self-drilling fasteners. The fasteners should be be dri en at an angle when securiing the outer lange to the rim joist. ee llustration

Sealing to the Ledger Flashing

Ledger Flashingg gIt is important to have an even and clean flashing surface to seal the DryJoistEZ to. It is also ideal to have the vertical side of the flashing installed behind the first course of siding.

Using an exterior flashing sealant, seal the profile of each joist to the flashing. *Make sure the aluminum is clean and free of debris before sealing.

Add a second layer of flashing to the top side of the DryJoistEZ Again make sure the flashing isthe DryJoistEZ. Again, make sure the flashing isbehind a course of siding and/or is sealed to the exterior of the home.

Rain water is now collecting in the DryJoistEZ gutter channels and is following gravity toward the sloped, drainage side.

Sealing to the Header Flashing

Install the Wahoo Decks Header Flashing on top of all beams at the drainage end. The drip ledge should be facing down.

Seal the seam where the DryJoistEZ sits on the Header Flashing with Gutter Sealant.

Any water that runs back under the bottom of the DryJoistEZ will hit the H d Fl hi dHeader Flashing and then drop into the gutter.

Installing Profile Trim and Decking

Install the supplied neoprene channelInstall the supplied neoprene channelplugs into each dry channel before installing the Profile Trim.
