Fuel efficiency and harmful diesel emissions are important issues for the trucking industry, and any improvement in fuel eciency could save thousands of dollars each year.
With proven expertise in isothermal body works, TSSC is providing an innovative, cost-ecient, clean, quiet and easy to use system by harnessing the power of the sun.
Our innovative range is the use of solar panels to power the refrigeration units. This application is suitable for refrigerated trucks & trailers designed to maintain refrigerated conditions of the insulated box, which must be able to operate at chiller temperatures (+10 C).
Less Energy Consumption - Harnesses the energy of the sun Cost Savings on Fuel - Eliminate idling and additional engine load through compressor, bracket and belt assembly
Low Maintenance - Eliminate additional load on the engine vehicle ( No bracket, belt or compressor )
Vehicle engine failure does not effect the cooling system
Less Noise Pollution
Long life Battery
Green Technology - Elimination of emissions associatedwith diesel exhausts and global warming
Benefits of the Solar Powered S-Series Units
How Solar Works with RefrigerationThe innovation uses a variable speed, direct current (DC) cooling system, connected to a solar photovoltaic (PV) panel via electronic controls.
Specially designed thin Photovoltaic panels are mounted on the roof of the truck which generate power for the refrigeration unit. The DC electrical power drives the compressor to circulate the refrigerant.
This maintains peak performance in an environmentally sustainable way and helps conserve fuel unlike the traditional method of providing power by running the vehicle diesel engine of the vehicle or cooling unit.
When exposed to daylight, these panels continuously charge the TRU batteries which store thermal energy for ecient use when sunlight is absent.
The CELSIUS S-Series unit also includes a solar controller that regulates the state of the charge in the battery. This prevents the battery from overcharging and extends battery life. It also directs power where needed (to the crank battery, for example). The solar controller is waterproof and can be mounted in a wide range of locations on the truck.
The solar powered cooling unit also operates on a low acoustic value (creates less noise) compared to diesel engine.

During transit the truck self-alternator will produce the DC 24V electrical power to charge the solar system batteries and also vehicle enhine battery
Secondary Charge System
The system stores and distributes energy to reduce the operating costs; specically, fuel costs, engine maintenance, and overhaul costs. The S-series also plays a pivotal role to reduce greenhouse gas emission.
At present, most chilling equipment is powered by diesel
generators. These have high energy demands and
maintenance costs, as well as environmental impacts
both in terms of emissions, which contribute to the
greenhouse eect, and noise levels.
In comparison, S-Series solar-powered refrigeration unit
by TSSC uses considerably less energy than a standard
diesel-driven unit and by improving the vehicle’s
insulation and design we enable to keep it operating
throughout the year. Adding solar panels to trucks and
trailers has become more feasible as the cost of
technology has declined.
Reduce Fuel Costs and BecomeEnvironmentally Responsible
Even in low light, the solar panels collect energy to keep
the unit’s battery fully charged and take away the need
to use the engine for recharging. These panels will
reduce fuel consumption by up to 25% when compared
to traditional units operating without the solar panels.
You can also link the unit to telematics and manage the
refrigeration and other functions remotely.
The solar panels are constructed of damage resistance
and scratch resistance material and can be easily and
safely washed .
TSSC is an innovative company specializing in renewable energy systems. Our goal is to provide industry specic solar solutions for commercial refrigerated transportation. Our solar energy solutions create everlasting energy for the vehicle and its auxiliary equipment.

TSSC Solar Truck Direct Driven Model
Maintenance
High Frequent Maintenance ( Belt , bracket , out of service expenses )Variable speed of compressor shortens life of compressor, bracket alignment issues, truck out of service
Extended Battery Life- 3 years
Fuel Savings
Low Savings (Constant running engine and idling required)Additional load on engine from mounted compressor Needed to run the engine idle prior to loading the box
Temperature Performance
Constant RPM - Stable TemperatureVariable compressor RPM coupled with vehicle of the engine. (Compressor failure more probable)
Truck Engine Integrity
Engine Warranty Maintained Engine Warranty Questionable- Bracket and compressor mounted on the engine body coupled with belt
Green High CO² Emissions
Noise PollutionLess PollutionFewer Moving Parts High Acoustic Noise
Reliability
Higher risk of merchandise spoilage related to heat exposure when truck engine breaks down or compressor/belt failure. Additional expenses related to truck out of service and leasing alternate truck .
Truck Body Low Roof Temperature Heat Load on the Box -Solar panels on roof absorb the heat.
More Heat Load on the Box - Roof is exposed todirect sunlight
Refrigeration Unit
Less Wear and Tear of Cooling Unit – Lowusage with only compressor running with DC power.
Higher Wear and Tear of Cooling System – More usage with additional moving parts and cooling system exposed to variable engine rpm.
Warranty1 Years on the Cooling Unit
3 Years on the Solar System
ROI(Return on Investment)
3 Years More than 3 Years
Low Maintenance Less rate of cooling unit wear and tear. Less moving parts with elimination of bracket, pulley and belt. • Constant RPM of Compressor extends compressor life
High Savings ( Reduced fuel consumption ) ….Option to pre- cool the box through shore power or solar power prior to loading the box with merchandiseLess Load on the vehicle engine . No need to run the truck engine when vehicle is parked or stopped during deliveries .
No Engine Idling and no additional CO2 emissionsrelated to additional cooling load on truck engine
Independent from Truck Engine. External independent Power supply reduces risk of engine breakdown and loss of high valued merchandise to exposed heat dual power source system during operation and additional stand bye shore power to charge the system whenengine is parked
