We celebrated last week with a variety of activities including Chinese New Year cooking demonstrations for the children on Tuesday 24th January and our Nursery children performing a Chinese New Year dance to the rest of the school on Wednesday 25th January. We would like to thank all the parents and volunteers for their support in making the day so enjoyable and helping the children to learn many interesting facts along the way. Everyone really enjoyed the food tasting! Thank you. Governors also recently reviewed our Sex and Relationships Policy in the Curriculum & Standards Committee and would welcome any comments parents and carers have regarding this policy. Please have a look at the policy on our website www.redesdale.co.uk in the section under School Policies’. We have attached a comment slip with this newsletter for you to complete. Thank you for your continued support. Scholastic Book Fair & World Book Day Our Scholastic Book Fair will be open the first week back after the half term holiday the week beginning Monday 27th February. We will also be celebrating 20 years of World Book Dayon Thursday 2nd March where we are inviting children to dress as their favourite book characters and every child will receive a £1.00 book token to put towards a book of their choice in the book fair or can be used to buy a free £1.00 book at selected bookshops. We hope the children will enjoy having a look at the books in the Scholastic Book Fair and choosing from a lovely range of books. We will be sending out book fair leaflets to give a flavour of the books on offer.
