From the Pastor’s Pen…“Fasting and Praying”

“So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and He heard our prayer.” Ezra 8:23 NLT

We need Revival in our churches, in our communities, and in our country! We need an Awakening in America that will motivate the church to finish what Jesus started. Jesus gave us the Great Commandment to love God and people and the Great Commission to go and make disciples.

After the 70 years of Babylonian Captivity, God used Ezra and Nehemiah and others to lead the Jews in returning to Jerusalem, rebuilding the Temple and walls, and reviving the people spiritually. According to Ezra 8:23, the key to their success was fasting and praying.

Fasting and Praying just go together. Like jet engines, FASTING takes our PRAYING to another level. Therefore, we join others in this season of AWAKEN and we are fasting and praying for revival. If you have not done so, pick up an AWAKEN packet from the Welcome Center and join us as we set our heart on God each day, pray and fast for the people on our list each day, and make life better for the people on our prayer list.

As we celebrate our past, we FAST and PRAY for our future!

We Must Work His PlanEphesians 5:15-16 NLTWelcome
