9.0 Recommendations

9.1 Injection Moulding

1) Reposition the hopper with lowering its height so it can be reached easily without

limiting its function. Current hopper is too high that people need to use stair in order

to put the material in the hopper.

2) Integrate the digital weighing device to the hopper and feeder. This will ease people

to weigh the material directly to the machine.

3) Design a storage at the machine that can store the raw materials. The storage is

directly connected to the injection unit. At the storage, we can set the amount of

materials (ratio) to be passed to the injection unit. In this system, hopper and feeder

are not necessary to the machine, so people no longer need to put the material to the

machine manually.

9.2 Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

1) Design a clamp that can hold a circular or spherical object. The current clamp can

only hold a flat object.

2) Integrate printing device to the machine so we can print out our data directly and

quickly. This will ease the people to print out their data without needing to transfer

their data to other computer.

3) Instead of using joystick, provide other choice of devices to control the motion of the

probes to the machine such as remote controller. The control device can be plugged

and unplugged from the machine easily. The reason is to make the machine more user

friendly, different people may have different skill that they mastered.
