Our Origins
WomenCertified Inc. was founded by Delia Passi, former Publisher of Working Mother magazine and responsible for the pinnacle success of the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers list. She is the author of Winning the Toughest Customer; the Essential Guide to Selling to Women. In 2007, WomenCertified partnered with the Wharton School of Business to conduct the first ever gender-based customer satisfaction study. The groundbreaking results supported the launch of the Women’s Choice Award program as the collective voice of the female consumer, as well as set the foundation for the Women’s Choice Award Audit process. Women’s Choice Award Methodology
The WomenCertified Inc. research team creates a customized survey with 4 or 5 mandatory questions, including questions on gender, the customer’s most recent purchase, the date of service or transaction, zip code (for a chain or multiple location retailer), customer satisfaction rating and whether the customer would recommend the company to his/her friends and family. The company is required to send the survey to their database of customers and/or share their database with WomenCertified Inc. to obtain responses through a phone survey. Companies that earn a recommendation rating above 85% from their female customers will be awarded with the Women’s Choice Award® 9 out of 10 Recommended designation.
