Holders of thecertificates at Mastery or Expert level areeligible for employment within the Polishnational educational system as teachers ofEnglish language in nearly all settings exceptfor foreign language teacher training colleges.

English UK is the national association ofaccredited English language centres. Formed in2004 from two previous associations (theAssociation of Recognised English LanguageServices and the British Association of StateEnglish Language Teaching), they have around400 member centres in private schools,educational trusts and charities, furthereducation colleges and universities. All members are accredited under theAccreditation UK scheme, which is run inpartnership between the British Council andEnglish UK.

English UK have established themselves as thevoice of the UK English language teaching sectorand now work with a wide range of partners andstakeholders worldwide to represent theinterests of the English language profession.

City & Guilds is an Institutional Affiliate of IATEFL.

IATEFL is an international community set up tolink, develop and support English languageteaching (ELT) professionals throughout theworld. The Association has over 3500members in 100 countries.

IATEFL main activities include an annualconference, held every spring, which attractsover 1400 ELT professionals; Special InterestGroups (SIGs) which hold various types ofmeetings and conferences around specifictopics and publishing newsletters. TheAssociation also links with associateprofessional organisations in countries andprovides advice and support to those interestedin forming or developing a local teachers’association.
