Get Fenced IN! Fact: Drowning is the leading cause ofunintentional death among children agedone to four and most children drown inhome or community swimming pools.According to a recent study analyses by“Science Daily”, twenty-one hospitals inSpain reported that 60% of all drowning vic-tims were under the age of 6.The report went on to say “......although hav-ing swimming lessons led to an 88% reduc-tion in the risk to those between one andfour years old, such a strategy must notreplace adult supervision or adequate fencing.”Summer may be over but our vigilance in ensuring children’ssafety around pools must not end - especially with so many com-munity and private pools remaining open all Winter. At last, local authorities in Spain are reacting to the EuropeanChild Safety Alliance’s recommendations and the law is nowbeing implemented in regard to pool fences, with substantialfines for non-compliance.Lifeguard Safety Pool Fence researched the market world wide(including all countries where it is compulsory to have a surroundfor swimming pools) and came to the conclusion that the safestmesh pool system available is from Guardian Pool Fence in theUSA.The mesh surround is almost impossible for a child to climb overas it has no top bar for them to get hold of and the unique gatesystem has no top bar either. Supported by twin trusses, thegate also has no bottom bar that a child could accidentally tripover when entering or leaving the pool area, and it’s fitted withkey-lockable Magna-Catch, which is the safest, self-closing, self-latching gate mechanism available. In addition, not only are they the only “no holes” pool fence sys-tem in the World (perfect if you’re renting and the landlord won’tallow holes into the deck, or the need is only temporary) but theyare incredibly easy to erect and come with a lifetime guarantee. We are losing too many children to drowning, tragically cuttingshort these young lives and leaving families devastated, so weurge you, PLEASE, don’t let your child become a statistic.Find out more about Guardian pool fence systems fromLifeguard Safety Pool Fencing (the only authorised dealersin Europe) at: www.lifeguardfence.com Tel:952 810 443 email: [email protected]
