Cut out the Pages:
Cut along the three horizontal dotted lines (for the pages with the top page/fly, the spider/bird, and the cat/dog). Do not cut the cow or horse pages.
Assemble the Book:To assemble the book, first staple the cow and horse pages together, using one staple near the top of the page and one near the bottom. Then put the half-pages in order: the top page, the fly, the spider, the bird, the cat, and the dog. Staple the half pages on top of the horse and cow pages, using two staples.
Hand Craft:
Print and color a paper lady, then fill her skirt with the animals, including a fly, spider, bird, cat, dog, cow, and horse. This craft accompanies the rhyme called The Old Lady and the Fly.
Activity 3:
Supplies: •Paper •Printer •Crayons or markers •Scissors •Either a stapler, glue, or a hole punch and yarn (to put the skirt together) •Optional: a piece of acetate or other stiff, clear plastic to make the second layer of the skirt (this way, you can see the animals through the skirt).

•Staple along the sides and bottom of her skirt,

Remember not to close up the top of the skirt, where the animals will go in.
You can now say The Old Lady and the Fly rhyme while putting the animals in the old lady's skirt.
Don't forget to write the child's name on the craft.

Papier-Mâché Spider Craft
This scary papier-mâché Halloween spider is a lot of fun to make, but messy. You can either put the spider on a table or hang it from the ceiling from fishing line to make a scary Halloween decoration.
Supplies needed: • A round balloon • Newspaper • Flour and water • A pan and a stirrer • Aluminum foil • Hot glue • Black tempera paint • Paint brush • Googly eyes

Papier-Mâché Glue:
•Make a simple, thin glue from flour and water.
•Mix 1/2 cup of flour into 1/2 cup of water until the mixture is thin and runny.
•Stir into 2 cups of boiling water (the heating gives the glue a nice consistency, but is not necessary).
•Simmer for about 3 minutes, then cool.
• Tear a lot of newspaper into strips. Strips should be about 1 inch wide; the length doesn't really matter.
• Blow up and tie a round balloon for each student.
Work on scraps of newspaper.• Dip a strip of paper in the flour glue, wipe off the excess, and wrap the strip around the balloon. • Cover the entire top of the balloon. • Have at least two or three layers surrounding the balloon. Let it dry (at least overnight) after each layer. Let the balloon dry completely (it may take a few days). • Pop the balloon and separates it from the outer papier-mâché skin. • Throw the torn balloon away.
• Make 8 legs from aluminum foil. For each leg, start with a sheet of foil about a foot long.
• Crumble or roll it into a leg-like shape. Hot glue the legs onto the spider. Let the glue set.
• Paint the spider black (don't paint the legs).• Let the paint dry. • Paint two white or red eyes on the spider (or glue on googly eyes). • You can either put the spider on a table or hang it from the ceiling from fishing line to make a scary Halloween decoration.

spider is made from a yarn pompom and pipe cleaners.
Supplies needed: • A lot of yarn• Scissors • 4 pipe cleaners • Scrap cardboard • Googly eyes • glue
• Cut a piece of yarn about 2 feet long; put it aside for later. Cut a piece of scrap cardboard about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide.

• Carefully remove the yarn loops from the cardboard (make sure the loops retain their shape).
• Place the 4 pipe cleaners on top of the loops. Tightly tie the 2-foot-long piece of yarn around the middle of the loops plus pipecleaners.
• Cut the yarn loops at their edges. Trim the pompom so that it makes a nice circle.
• Bend the spider's legs and glue on googly eyes.
Now you have a great, spooky spider.

Supplied needed: • Egg cartons, • crayons or markers,• scissors, • pipe cleaners. • Googly eyes (are a nice touch).
Separate one cup from an egg carton. Using the point of a scissors, an adult should make 8 small holes (4 on each side) at the base of the cup. Insert a pipe cleaner into each of the holes for legs. Draw a face and decorate the body.
